. [co-anchor peppa 🌶️] good evening and welcome to #inthemeows. [co-anchor cheezel 🧀] we’ve got a rapidly developing meows story coming out of hillbilly country, PA, where it’s alleged that misty’s purrpa @misty.s_world is rounding up all the appalachian street kittens, and bringing them home, aided and abetted, of course, by misty’s meowmy. [senior correspondent luna 🌝] cheezel, this is reminscent of the missing monaco street cats story, uncovered by salvi and the chaos crew @salvi_the_sleepyhead, and broken by us just last week. [🌶️] cheezel, is there any suggestion that count coco @prince_phantom07 is involved with misty’s purrpa in an international street cat trafficking ring? [🧀] none at all, peppa. misty’s purrpa has just addressed the throng of reporters camped on his doorstep, saying (with a defiant glint in his eye) that he’s not going to stop until all the hillbilly kittens are off the streets and living comfortably in the home he shares with misty. [🌝] misty has given us an exclusive interview, in which she speaks frankly about the inherent danger of social experimentation imposed without a proper evidence base, or her consent, and warns that things might get ugly. [🌶️] oh, we do love ugly developments, cheezel. for now, it seems the latest kitten to be plucked from the streets has been approved for residency status. let’s all give the little fella, sebastian, a meowy warm welcome and 3 cheers. [🧀] in #supurrsenior meows tonight, we’re celebrating the 17th birthday of yuzu @truthbeauty929, and acknowledging her all–round meowvellousness. [🌝] in other meows this week, happy birthday gorgeous face squidy @squidy.cat and happy gotcha day dear pupper friend, fluffy @fluffyandedwardlhasabrothers. happy 1st birthday amber @bigtiggs and dewey @phantom_and_dewey. happy 2nd birthday sylvie @sylviemeoww and angel minnie @minnie.is.magic #minniespinkpumpkinpawty (#otrb). happy 4th birthday vader @bullytiloversgt and fergus @uisge_and_fergus. happy 6th birthday: — ossa @meru_miaows — marlee @marlee_and_leon — franny & zooey @selmacats10 happy 6th gotcha day thor @odin_maincoon. ⬇ .

Flowers may be a classic Valentine’s gift, but did you know that some popular blooms can be dangerous for pets? Lilies, tulips, and other common flowers can be toxic to cats and dogs, yet most bouquets come with no warning labels at all. After losing his cat Reuben to toxic flowers, Jun started this petition to help protect other pets from the same heartbreak. A simple label saying “Toxic to Cats/Dogs” could save lives. 💌This Valentine’s Day,  give love that protects, sign and share Jun’s petition far and wide to help keep fur babies safe. 🐶🐱

More than 11,600 Aussies have voiced their support, including @meru_miaows, @asherthetuxxie, @princesshoneybelle, @a_cat_behaviourist, @britishblue_seraphina, @skeeterthebengal, @pizza_and_luna, @potatothepersian, and @addies_littlelambs 🐈🐈‍⬛ 💘 Sign the petition at the link in our bio and share this post with a pet parent in your life to help them keep their cats and dogs safe. #catowner #lilies #petowners

Are you sending or gifting a bouquet this festive season? Here’s how to keep your loved ones’ furry friends safe 🐱🐶 1. If you’re buying flowers for a household with pets, ensure the bouquet doesn’t include any form of lilies, which are extremely toxic to cats and dogs. Also, avoid toxic flowers like tulips, carnations, daffodils, mistletoe and holly 2. Don’t rely on the florist! At the moment, there are no requirements for florists to label which of their flowers are toxic to pets, or to advise you if you’re buying a potentially deadly bouquet. A quick Google before you purchase is the best way to find out for yourself if your gift is safe 3. Advise your loved one to keep their bouquet out of reach of pets and away from air conditioning vents or windows that may blow pollen around the home, even if you believe the flowers are pet-friendly 4. Share this video with any pet owners in your life to ensure their fur babies remain healthy and happy this Christmas “During the holiday season, more flowers and plants enter our homes as gifts and decor. Keep an eye out for your own pets and those of your family and friends, - @junppeng, who lost his beloved cat, Reuben, to lily poisoning. More than 10,000 Aussies, including @princesshoneybelle, @meru_miaows, @catkobe, and @britishblue_seraphina have voiced their support for Jun’s petition calling for the introduction of pet-safety warnings on toxic flowers in florist shops and online stores. After the passing of his mum, Jun (@junppeng) lost his beloved cat, Reuben, because of a simple bouquet of lilies.

Now, Jun is calling for mandatory pet-safety warnings on toxic flowers in all florist shops and online stores.
As recently reported by @yahoonewsau, “experts say the risk often goes unnoticed because these flowers are so common in sympathy arrangements, birthday bouquets and supermarket bunches, meaning a well-meaning gift can easily turn deadly in a pet-friendly home”.  “If this petition helps even one person avoid the heartbreak I am going through, then it’s worth it — for Reuben”, Jun wrote. Thousands have signed the petition, and shown their support, including @asherthetuxxie, @britishblue_seraphina, @meru_miaows, and @princesshoneybelle. To join them in support to protect other pets from the danger of toxic flowers, sign the petition in the link in bio.
