BIO

Hello! My name is Mirian Arvunescu and I am a third year student at Gobelins Paris. I try to combine my passion for animation and political activism. My favourite medium is 2D Animation but I have a soft spot for collage and experimental animation. My main inspirations are the comic books I read as a middle-schooler and my personal experiences. I’m the nanny of 3 cats who really like my drawings.

WHAT WAS YOUR PROCESS?
I spent my high-school years in Bucharest, and in consequence a lot of afternoons in IOR Park, I took walks, I played badminton and fed geese, a lot of memories i greatly treasure. I saw with my own eyes how affected the retroceded zone was and this motivated me to participate in the project. When I listened to the audio for the first time I imagined a dream-like sequence interview with the inhabitants of the forest, a community of fairies affected by the logging. I chose to represent the fairies as a lawyer-figure to the animals and bugs that cannot speak for themselves and lost their home.

Anddd another 5 attacks done!
Also, my editing skills got slightly better since the first short, now I was able to make text appear at the same position on every clip, I'm quite proud of myself 😂

We invite you to explore the full zine @ the link in our bio.➿

This zine is a collaborative effort as a result of the How to Zine a Community workshop, held by @incubatoruldeanimatie in April 2024. We are the largest community dedicated to non-formal education in animation, digital art, and technology for young creatives from Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Our spaces are always accessible, diverse, and inclusive. We are community-led, interdisciplinary and value collaboration above all.

This zine aims to explore the individual perspectives of our participants, uncovering how they perceive themselves within different communities. Ultimately, it represents a snapshot portrait of our community and the diversity within it at this point in time.

‼️Hi guys!!! I moved my accounts so if you could please follow my new art account 💞
The main reason is that this account has been shadowbanned by the algorithm and I really wanna start fresh. I also want to manage everything better and build on the base that I already have.
See ya!
