week one as a first-time homeowner 🏡✨

i’ve learnt more from YouTube this week than i have in months, discovered that flat-pack furniture is a full-body workout, and realised that buying a house is only the beginning.

it’s been busy, stressful, exciting, and incredibly rewarding. here’s to many more little milestones 🤍

Too many birthdays here in January 🥳

It was mine this week now it’s Mike’s @mnhomereno this weekend!

We had other family and friends as well in between.

That’s an excuse for the lack of DIY progress here 🥳🎂🎈😆

I think we started the stairway/landing project on 18th January! However, we’ve mainly worked on it during the weekend’s only and we were away last weekend.
We’ve done it all ourselves and although it’s taken our time, it’s given us satisfaction to see it transforming.
Shout out to Mike @mnhomereno for sharing the decorating mitt. The black balustrade and spindles were painted a few years ago but they’ve been lightly sanded this time and I used this mitt to refresh the paint and it worked like a dream. Thanks Mike 🙌🏼

Yesterday two of the lights were fitted. If Mr M had a £1 for every profanity, we would be booking a Maldives holiday today! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣
Hopefully the ceiling lights will be fitted today and a lot less stressful 🙏🏼

If you’re still following this project….. thanks for your commitment 🤣 nearly there 🙌🏼

Have a Super Sunday
Hayley 🤩

PSST... don't let anyone tell you the small changes don't count! 😏 Just look at these stunning gold, knurled door pulls from the Hoxton Range (Taplow), flawlessly demonstrated by @mnhomereno. A simple swap and the entire vibe shifts—proof that it's all in the details. Who else loves a quick style upgrade? 🔥💡
