🖤✨ Flatlay Friday featuring underrated books ✨🖤

💬 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙖 𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙝𝙮𝙥𝙚?

📖 Here are mine

✨Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young
🖤The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson
✨Fall of the Horizon by Jessica J. Ayala
🖤A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross
✨Of Jade and Dragons by Amber Chen
🖤Dance of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson

I love all of these books so much, and they deserve way more recognition! I adore them all for very different reasons! I just want to say that Of Jade and Dragons still holds the prize for the book that surprised the most! It was so good!

I also want to mention Angels’ Blood by Nalini Singh; It’s not in the photo because I lent my copy to someone, but the Guild Hunter series is one of my all-time favourite fantasy romance series! Honestly, so underrated! 😭🖤

Thank you @bella_bibliophile_bello for tagging me! Tagged a few, but as always, no pressure 🫶

Happy Friday! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

I appreciate my work girlies so much, they purposely saved October as a “Georgie pick” for the work book club and I am the walking spooky boo out of them all.

Knowing my ladies, I know they don’t lean so much into spooky horror so I wanted to pick something that would hopefully make them laugh while being a little unhinged. This made me land on Fabulous Bodies by Chuck Tingle.

I’m super excited to jump into this, I feel it’s going to be such chaos with a sprinkling of wtf!

Have you read this yet?

𝓘𝓽’𝓼 𝓯𝓲𝓷𝓪𝓵𝓵𝔂 𝓕𝓻𝓲𝓭𝓪𝔂, 𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂𝓸𝓷𝓮!

💬 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪? 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙙?

I’m working tomorrow, but thankfully only in the morning because we have a town festival this weekend! It started on Wednesday, but we can’t take all those days off. I’m over the moon to have the afternoon free, though — this week has been busy and I definitely need some time to reset my brain 😮‍💨

📖 What I’m reading

~ The Wolves of War by John Gwynne. Almost at the 40% mark and really enjoying it! I love all the characters, but Halia is my favourite so far. And it’s my first book with wolves, so that’s been especially exciting!

🎬 What I’m watching & listening

~ Nothing at the moment! Still trying to decide whether to rewatch Supernatural, Sons of Anarchy, or start The Gentlemen. Decisions, decisions… 😂
~Chase Atlantic has been on repeat lately, especially during night drives! Love it🖤

I was tagged by @thiscatladyisareader to create a white and gold stack, and if there’s gold, I’m doing it! 😂 And let’s pretend the edge is gold because I can’t believe I don’t own a book with gold edges. I’m missing out!

I’ve tagged a few, but as always, no pressure.

✨ Happy Friday, and wishing you all a lovely weekend!

🌞 Seasonal Spredges Stack 🌞

💬 What’s your favourite type of sprayed edge?

Since it’s summer, I decided to put together a stack of books with sprayed edges that remind me of the season. As someone who loves dark fantasy and gothic reads, this turned out to be more difficult than I expected! Most of my books are quite moody and dark, so their edges tend to reflect those vibes.

That said, I absolutely adore these sprayed edges. I’m a sucker for anything nature-inspired - floral edges are my favourites. Architectural and city-inspired designs are a close second!

Thank you, @jo.readsbook for tagging me in this. I’ve tagged a few, but as always, there’s absolutely no pressure to join in.

Happy Monday! Wishing everyone a lovely week ahead✨

Red, but not read 🩸.

Thank you to @moonlit.erary for the tag on this. If you know me you know my books just happen to have red, pink or black covers 🫣. Horror and thrillers seem to follow a similar cover palette.

Which book should I add to my June TBR? I do have my sights set on 2, but seeing if anyone would pick any different.

Tagging a few baddies.

❤️Red but not read…

… 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙠 & 𝙛𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙡𝙖𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙄 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙙𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙩𝙤𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙩!

Happy Monday!

💬 How many unread books do you have on your shelves?

Honestly, I’ve lost count! 😅 My TBR seems to multiply faster than I can read. The struggle of not being a full-time reader is very real!

So here’s a glimpse of my unread physical books - surprisingly, I don’t have many red unread books!

• Books featured •
♥️The Mime Order by Samantha Shannon
💋 Fate of the Heart Queen by Nisha J. Tuli
♥️ Jade War by Fonda Lee
💋 Our Dark Duet by V.E. Schwab
♥️ Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness

Also, can we take a moment to appreciate these gorgeous covers? They’re absolutely stunning 😍

Thank you @thiscatladyisareader for the tag. I loved doing this challenge! ❤️ I’ve tagged a few fellow book lovers, but as always, absolutely no pressure to join in.

🔎 Scavenger hunt Challenge

I love doing these kinds of challenges. They’re such a fun way to rediscover my shelves because, let’s be honest, I don’t remember every book I own 😅 So thank you @damienmortimore for tagging me in this! I’ve tagged a few people too, but as always, no pressure ✨

🔎Scavenger Hunt

📖 A book with under 300 pages: The End of Loneliness

🎨 A book with a colour in the title: To Snap a Silver Stem

🖋️ A book with a name in the title: The Unmaking of June Farrow

📚 A book with a one-word title: Darkdawn

🐍 A book with an animal in the title: Archangel’s Viper

🌲 A book with a setting in the title: After the Forest

💬 What are you reading this week?

I just started Lady Darkness by Melissa K. Roehrich because I’ve heard amazing things about both the author and the series, and I’m curious to finally see what all the love is about!
