Last night was such a lovely evening!

I had the pleasure of attending The Mother’s Table, hosted by @fivexmore_ alongside some amazing Black mums and content creators. We ate, chatted, laughed and had some really honest conversations about motherhood and all the different phases that come with it.

It felt especially meaningful being there during Black Maternal Health Week. This is a cause that’s very close to me personally, having had my own difficult experiences with healthcare providers during pregnancy and through miscarriages.

I was so grateful to be invited to represent Raising Me & Mine, especially with Audrey being unwell and unable to make it.

Good food, good conversation, good women and an even better cause 🩷

Thank you @fivexmore_ for The Mother’s Table. What a beautiful way to kick off the week.

We’re thrilled to announce our next 2026 Changemakers, Tinuke Awe and Clotilde Abe.

In 2017, Tinuke had a traumatic birth experience. The following year, when the stats came out that Black women in the UK were five times more likely to die during pregnancy, childbirth, or the six weeks after, she wasn’t surprised. She’d already been hearing the same stories from women in her community. Clo, working across NHS maternity wards, had seen the same pattern from the other side. So the two of them joined forces, and @fivexmore_ was born: a campaign that’s since taken the fight to Parliament and the NHS, working to close one of the UK’s starkest health gaps for good.

Now mothers, campaigners, and co-founders, Tinuke and Clo want one thing, to put themselves out of business.

Thank you @tinukeawe and @msclotildeabe for being true Changemakers.

What We Don’t See

African Maternal Health, In conversation.

This Friday, @globalchildandmaternalhealth is bringing our work on maternal health and environmental justice to Accra, Ghana 🇬🇭 , for the first conversation in our new “What We Don’t See” series.

What began as a blog with @c40cities is now becoming a live experience, taking the learning off the page and into the community, where these conversations belong.

We are delighted to be joining @vanessa_gyan, founder of @moderndaymomgh and Eno Quagraine founder of @talkative_mom Studios for an intimate live podcast exploring the unseen systems shaping maternal health, including environmental health, air pollution, child development and the everyday realities that influence the health of women and families.

Alongside the live podcast, we’ll also be hosting a panel discussion bringing together community voices, public health professionals and advocates to explore how communities and institutions can work together to improve outcomes for women and families.

If you’re in Accra this Friday, or know someone who would enjoy being part of the conversation, send us a DM. We’d love to send you an invitation.

See you in Ghana. 🤎
