These two organizations have been in partnership for decades and we are humbled by the offer of NMA to welcome NMF to speak at its Past Presidents’ Leadership Forum. NMF has held the NMF President’s scholarship historically and under the leadership of Dr Yolanda Lawson the charge to elevate it to a 1M fund was set. We’re here at the NMA Convention in Puerto Rico in furtherance of our collective impact. #LetsGo!

It’s been a long journey and at times it truly felt impossible. I’ll forever be grateful for my family, friends, partner, and mentors who believed in me every step of the way.

As I celebrate becoming a doctora, I’m reminded to stay grounded in my why. I’m committed to keep opening doors for those who come after me. I can’t wait to keep paying it forward. 💛💙

🔷 NBME Fee Assistance Program for the United States Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE®): opens March 31- May 10, 2026, providing $695 awards for the registration costs of Step 1 and Step 2 CK.

🔷 NBME/NMF Scholarship Program: open April 6 - May 17, 2026, providing 20 second-year medical students with $10,000 per year, renewable up to three years.

Happy National Women’s Physician’s Day from all of us here at @nmfonline to every NMF alumna, scholar, partner, supporter and friend! Women comprise approximately 38% of the US physician Workforce today. Top Specialties: Pediatrics (65.6%), Obstetrics and Gynecology (60%+), and Hospice/Palliative Medicine (62.2%) have the highest percentages of women.
Lowest Specialties: Orthopedic surgery (6.2%) and sports medicine (7.5%) have the lowest percentages of female physicians. We Salute you today and everyday! You continue to make us #NMFProud!
