On September 10, ACL Live at the Moody Theater filled up with boots and bolo ties for a shared cause close to West Austin’s heart: saving Lions Municipal Golf Course, known to generations of Austinites simply as Muny.

The Muny Conservancy’s fifth annual Imagine Muny gala drew golfers, musicians, and neighbors for an evening of cocktails, a live auction, and a concert headlined by Tanya Tucker, Wade Bowen, Jack Ingram, and Ray Benson’s Asleep at the Wheel. All in service of a 102-year-old course Conservancy leaders call one of Austin’s most treasured green spaces.

The stakes are more than sentimental. Muny’s 141 acres sit atop a water recharge zone and shelter wildlife, along with hundreds of heritage oak and pecan trees. The course also holds a singular place in civil rights history as the first public golf course in the South to desegregate, a legacy central to the Conservancy’s mission.

In many Ugandan homes, posho and beans is a simple meal that brings people together — filling stomachs and reminding families they are cared for.

This July, Faith Foundation Uganda is reaching out to vulnerable children and families with meals, support, and hope. Because sometimes the smallest plate of food can restore strength, dignity, and a reason to smile again. ❤️

We may not change the whole world at once, but together we can make sure more children do not go to sleep hungry or forgotten.

We were so honored to have received the Meredith Powell Award for Community Culture at @downtownaustin’s 2026 Future of Downtown Awards this week!

The Downtown Austin Alliance describes it best: “This annual award is given to an individual champion for authentic and inclusive arts, culture, and sense of place downtown. The Meredith Powell Award for Community Culture’s namesake is a tireless advocate of the power of arts and culture to strengthen community and place. Meredith Powell  is a visionary in the arts community, as the former executive director of Art Alliance and founder of Public City. By elevating community voices and bringing life to underutilized spaces through art and activation, her work has significantly contributed to downtown’s vibrancy for over 20 years.”

Thank you Meredith, DAA & @paramountaustin for having and recognizing us. We love our home in Downtown Austin, and can’t wait to see what the future brings.
