40 inch tires on a 200 Series Land Cruiser (technically a Lexus LX570)?!
You read that right. We had the chance to check out @tiny_the_200's unique build during The Big Thing at @xoverlandranch and there's some wild details to appreciate, like the custom body mounts and snorkel. The owner built it up to keep a low center of gravity while having massive ground clearance. He's conquered Montana's toughest 4x4 trails in it with his family and he has many more routes to check off his list.

Behind sits a mostly collapsed old cabin likely from the late 19th to early 20th century mining that occurred in the Tobacco Root mountains. Just a few feet further is a maintained old cabin used mostly by winter visitors on snowmobiles.

Don’t know where I got this. It was saved a few years back in my photos. Probably a trend I saved but never posted.

This stupid rig still makes me want to keep turning the page and see what can be done. Happy it is where it’s at, but a whole book left of ideas swimming around in my head. This rig’s story led to a lot of @NST_Spec kits being sold to help people get some pretty tall tires under their 200’s before portals were readily available. These kits still help accomplish a pretty respectable build without the cost of portals. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have portals, but that has never been my budget. It’s not a lot of other people’s budget either (or maybe just a choice for some), so we’ve done what we could with a little ingenuity and some friendly motivation from @ih8mud

Messing around with these reel functions so it was a good excuse to highlight one of my favorite things I’ve done for the LX so far.

Adding the 1.5 inch body lift from @nst_spec is probably my favorite thing on the LX. It gives it a way better and taller look for one while still rocking the factory AHC. It allows me utilize all the functions of stock AHC suspension which is awesome because this suspension is great. I had some rubbing issues at stock height with 35s without the body lift when driving at highway speeds and would hit a good bump in the road so that’s when I knew I needed this body lift. After the install I no longer have any rubbing on normal or highway driving and even when I’m pulling our new to us camper. Plus it gives me some extra clearance when off-roading which is always a plus.

Aside from all that good stuff the folks at @nst_spec had awesome communication throughout the install and offered great help throughout the whole process even with all my questions. Plus I got some stickers and a Velcro patch with my order which is always a win 🤙
