Dear allies, this song is for everyone who has been knocked down, underestimated, exhausted, heartbroken, angry at the world, and somehow still found the strength to get back up.

Every “battered me” returns stronger.

And maybe that is what we need right now: not to become untouched by the world, but to become impossible to silence.
(You all know what I’m referring to 😉🌍)

For nature. For animals. For humans.
For this beautiful, unique planet.

You Won’t Break Me is yours now 💚

On April 13, we co-organized California’s First Policy Forum on the Culture Global Stocktake as part of #LAClimateWeek2026 🌇🌱

Artists, designers, cultural producers, community organizers, consultants and academics gathered at the Thai Community Development Center (Thai CDC) for a half a day of productive conversations, real policy work and an abundant selection of vegetarian/vegan fare.

Following the delivery of the first public draft of the Culture Global Stocktake for Climate Action, this forum brought together Angelenos to collectively assess policy gaps, stress-test emerging recommendations while aligning on pathways to embed culture across mitigation, adaptation, Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) and climate finance agendas.

The room engaged with ideas surrounding funding, industry accountability, green space, indigenous wisdom, storytelling and community repair with intersectional themes such as:
✧ Artist stipend models and multi-year community funding
✧ Nature access as mental-health infrastructure
✧ Joy, play and cultural belonging as tools for climate resilience
✧ In LA, younger generations, industry transformations and community spaces offer hope

Thank you to everyone who participated, contributing their knowledge, tools and lived experience to this collective process ✌️

Organized by @creativemigration @entertainmentculturepavilion @laclimateweek. Hosted by @thaicdc. Special thanks to our food & beverage sponsors @cafetropicalsunset @plantbasedtreaty @liquiddeath!

Tiny but mighty 🦋 It’s Endangered Species Day!

Once on the verge of extinction, the El Segundo Blue Butterfly is making a comeback thanks to hands-on volunteer work, educational programs, and environmental restoration initiatives that reconnect native habitat spaces.

In 1976, the pollinator became the first insect listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act. Its survival depends entirely on the coastal dune ecosystems along the South Bay, where the butterfly’s host plant, sea buckwheat, grows.

In collaboration with SouthBay Parkland Conservancy @southbayparklandconservancy we spoke with Mary Simun – Vice President, educator, and biologist of South Bay Parkland Conservancy – about the nonprofit’s role in restoring the El Segundo Blue’s population and preserving our native landscape.

When we invest in local stewardship, we’re not just saving one species, but rebuilding entire ecosystems, one wingbeat at a time. 🌱

Even the smallest wings can carry the biggest story.

Swipe to learn more about the El Segundo Blue and how SouthBay Parkland Conservancy is connecting communities to conservation.

Yesterday was a hard day. We lost a friend and partner, Jane Goodall. It has been the biggest honor of my whole life to have been able to be along for even a small part of the journey for Jane’s amazing life. Thank you to @janegoodallinst , @rootsandshoots , and my dear friend, @sjsweeney , for this opportunity to collaborate with @collidescopefoundation and @laclimateweek . While yesterday was a day of mourning for many people, we also know that Jane would want us to continue forward as a large force and amplify her work and mission. When I was chatting with her earlier this year about her wild travel schedule, she told me that she was planning to go full speed until she dropped. She did exactly that, and it is how she wanted it. If we could all be so blessed.

I was so honored to receive a hand-written note from Jane a couple months ago. It is often rare to be recognized for the things that you do, so to receive this letter personally from Jane acknowledging our work was beyond words meaningful and encouraging.

I ended the day on October 1 by purchasing a wonderful bottle of @johnniewalker Black Label. I shared it with many friends that had the chance to meet Jane, and we made sure to finish the whole thing between 5-9pm. I am also pretty sure that Jane would have wanted this as well :)
