NEEDED + NECESSARY — HER vol.3 in partnership with @voteforyourdaughter with support from @weareedens

Women deserve safe, nonjudgmental spaces, where they can be empowered to move, connect and commune with each other.
This is HER.

Women deserve supportive rooms, where they can hear from each other, lean on one another and learn from each other.
This is HER.

Women deserve access to healthcare, education, economic opportunity, visibility and above all else safety.
This is HER.

MURAL MEETS MARKET CORRECTION. 💥

Created in honor of the inaugural @FEMMEArtFair, this mural celebrates the vision, voices, and undeniable impact of women artists, while paying tribute to the @guerrillagirls and their decades of unapologetically challenging inequality in the art world.

Painted by women. Inspired by change. A reminder that representation matters.

Made possible by @weareedens and @unionmarketdc.

Project managed by @studiousan + painted in partnership with @maggieoneillco @trapxbob @niaketurah @iamchelsea_art @boschpit_

One of my favorite memories from @femmeartfair 💗

Having Frida with the Guerrilla Girls join us to celebrate the mural, sharing dinner with incredible supporters of @ourdaughtersfutures to celebrate our work, this community of supporters and everything @femmeartfair was about…

A market correction made by women for women.
So grateful for this night and everyone who was part of it. Special thanks to @weareedens @jodiewmclean

The 4th Annual Champion for Girls Luncheon was a celebration highlighting phenomenal youth making an impact in their community and an opportunity to honor executives and organizations holding space for them to land, connect, and develop.

This year’s emcee, Symone Sanders-Townsend, Co-Host of The Weeknight on MS NOW gave a moving count of her experience in the Girls Inc. and reminded us all of the DC mission enriching the lives of the next generation.

Girls Inc. DC Women of Impact Cohort 5 honoree and my dear friend @ouldschool, thank you for the invitation to experience this movement.

We were @femmeartfair in DC in August! Where we had a great conversation with Dorothy Kosinski, Director Emerita of the Philips Collection and longtime friend of the GGs.

And here’s what we left behind:
Our first ever mural @unionmarketdc was sponsored by @ourdaughtersfutures and painted by @usanusan_

Check it out!

We had the pleasure of setting the scene for a beautiful private dinner recently inside our @unionmarketdc shop. Warm golds + rusty reds were the backdrop for the multi-course meal crafted by @chefamybdc + her amazing team. Our own flower queen @nicolelaemers created these stunning arrangements. It was a beautiful night celebrating some very special art world VIPs. ✨

What does it look like when girls build something together? This.

Aspen Spark, Our Daughters’ Future Fund, and Annie Broderick created a workshop where young women wouldn’t just see art, they’d make it. Girls Inc. DC girls braided, wrote, and wove their own words into the piece, reflecting their voices: “Be you.” “Be true to you.” “Find your voice.” “You are smart.”

As our partners at Girls Inc. DC put it: “Creativity is a powerful form of leadership. When girls are encouraged to express themselves through art, they build confidence, strengthen their voices, and imagine new possibilities for themselves and their communities.”

Their sculpture, created with artist Annie Broderick, who dedicated so much of her time to build it alongside them, joins Forever Fearless—Maggie O’Neill’s collection of sculptures that gives young girls everywhere a voice.

To every girl who showed up: you’re Forever Fearless 💗

Thank you @ourdaughtersfuturefund @girlsincdc @anniebroderickart @maggieoneillco @chelamitchellgallery @femmeartfair 🙏

It’s been two weeks since the FEMME Art Fair @femmeartfair opened, but I’m still buzzing from such an unforgettable experience!

I met so many remarkable women artists, learning the stories behind their work, and about their creative processes. Thank you all for the passion you shared with me! I left feeling inspired, energized, and with a little more on fire in me! Until we meet again, my fellow heroines! 🐔😎
