Rather than adopting the typical language of modern townhouse developments, Shelley Street draws directly from the suburb’s industrial past. On this corner parcel, we designed nine townhouses of three storeys, each with rooftop balconies — we applied a vertical living approach to make the most out of our site while giving each home its own street frontage and private laneway entry. What if the site’s oldest residents curated the masterplan? At Kingloch Parade, the site's protected trees became the framework for an entirely new neighbourhood. Completed in collaboration with @_sl_ab_, paths, homes and communal spaces were carefully arranged around the existing landscape, creating a walkable community that’s defined by a generous canopy of mature gum trees. Mid-century architecture precedents provide a quiet backdrop, with sawtooth roofs and sandy brickwork sitting comfortably beneath leafy shadows as the sun moves throughout the day. 📍 Wurundjeri Collaborator: @_sl_ab_ Client: @ozproperty Landscape: @realmstudios_ Photography: @gavin__green

Sawtooth roofs, industrial-style glazing, and brick facades make playful reference to Richmond’s heritage warehouse sites. Shelley St serves as a modern townhouse that cleverly embraces its past to serve a strong character on the streetscape. 📍Wurundjeri Client: @ozproperty Collaborator: @_sl_ab_

Video Feature • In Wantirna, a former school site is reimagined as a residential community shaped by context, memory and care. Drawing on the suburb’s brick homes and pitched roofs, the architecture feels grounded in what already exists. Sustainability informed the planning from the beginning, shaping orientation, ventilation and the diversity of typologies across the site. Shared landscapes and pedestrian-first spaces position the project as a thoughtful response to suburban density. Head to the link in bio to watch the full video on The Local Project.
