FIRST FRUIT is headed to USC. 🌱

We’re honored that First Fruit has been selected for the inaugural Nollywood in Hollywood Short Film Showcase, taking place at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

There is something especially meaningful about being included in a program built around the idea of Stories Without Borders. I believe deeply in telling stories are rooted in truth and recognizes the capacity to feel, connect, love, grieve, heal and care for one another has no borders.

I’m grateful to Nollywood in Hollywood & USC for creating this space and I’m especially looking forward to the conversation following the screening. As I’ve traveled with First Fruit, some of the most meaningful moments have come from hearing what audiences saw, felt and discovered in the film.

About last night in Texas. I’m sure I’ll post so much more as I receive photos, videos and we’ll repost as well. The storm was heading our way from Dallas but we hung in there and it passed over. Thanks to this audience for showing up. My nieces and nephews, best friend, college instructor, people I haven’t seen in decades and people I met for the first time. Thank you for wanting to continue the conversation and joining me for a late dinner. It was real. Bless you 💜 @bevjrouse

I love my creative community, and love the visionary work being done by Dr. Edwards and his team @plcdetroit, and it's especially excited during the annual @blackfootwearforum in Detroit.

This year was full of impact workshops and panel discussions. From my sneak peak book talk, to witnessing changemakers get their flowers like @sharifasays @nerdlikejazzy @tremaineemory and so many more, it was inspiring. We even got folks moving early on a Saturday morning on a Transformational Trek Walk led by @kareemdaay @reebok @mrs_hardaway29 @aherdofbison and me.

Hearing the talk with
@jemelehill and @kaepernick7 was just what the doctor ordered for my soul, and I'm enjoying his book.

There is no one who can storytell like the King of Rock @kingdmc, so that were definitely highlight stage moment. There were too many to name; they were so, so good.

My personal favorite was a stage moment, and the conversation I had with @mauricemalone, who is my day-1. Maurice Malone is a cultural architect who helped shape this denim and urban/streetwear category. He shared his deep roots in Detroit's hip-hop and music landscape that eventually reverberated around the world. Being able to collaborate with @plcdetroit to give him his flowers and see him recognized with a Trailblazer Award in his hometown was a full circle moment.

From the "Rising Stars" at the Sisters in Sole to Kicks Brunch, to Book Talks, Fashion, self-care, and more, @blackfootwearforum @plcdetroit has something for everybody.

"If you don't know, now you know" so don't miss 2027.
