Miami was a trip. Hot as hell but worth every minute. The delayed gratification after months of build up came to fruition as soon as I stepped on the turf.

Nothing has given me the same excitement and energy that playing football gave me. I remember my last snap of college football 9 years ago like it was yesterday. I’ve searched every day since for something that gives me the same drive, passion, and mission driven purpose to compete and get after it.

And now I’ve found that thing… and it’s here to stay.

I don’t believe there’s anything else that can congregate that many high performing people in one area at any one given time. There are pro athletes in other sports, doctors, lawyers, business owners, coaches… people all doing things at exceptionally high levels off the field all turning up to throw down just the same on the field. It’s unreal.

Aside from meeting incredible people, you get to witness some wild feats of athleticism. This being my third Apex, I’m still amazed at the freakish displays people put on.

This is the stuff that got me into coaching. Absurd showcases of raw athleticism accompanied by everyone elevating one another to be better. You can’t kill something like that. That type of culture is inevitable.

Everyone that shows up to an Apex event wins. Put that on the next marketing campaign @apexathlete.official

For years I lost myself and gave up showing up for myself because I hadn’t found anything that resonated with me to focus my own process on. My results in April showcased that.

I strolled out of the Austin event feeling that same fire I had in my playing days get relit. 6 solid months of work later and Miami was a much different story. I’m not at all satisfied with what I was able to do but I’m also extremely happy with the results as well.

I think that’s the beauty of it. The old me would have been furious about the final results. I hate losing and I left a few goals I had off the table. But me now, I’m grateful I have a lot to look forward to for 2027 already.

There’s still so far to go but look how far we’ve come.

Decided to make my doomscroll productive

Content can be hard and these are people I think do a really good job at it.

I find it useful, positive, or I like them as a person, probably a combination of the 3.

Loved getting back on the competition floor and pushing myself both physically and mentally! Huge thank you to @apexathlete.official and @timrileytraining for creating such an elite event and atmosphere.

I am incredibly grateful for a body that lets me compete, and so glad to have @skanegibson doing this with me.

The Forty was my favorite event and the main focus of my training leading up to this. I am absolutely stoked to hit a lifetime speed PR as a 33-year-old mom! Shout out to @pedullaperformance for the training that forced me to attack my weaknesses.

The Trap Bar event was the toughest event for me with the weight at 2.6x my bodyweight and what I’ll work on the most for the next one.

The 7 Events
•Fast Forty
•Med Ball Overhead Toss
•Broad Jump
•Approach Jump
•Trap Bar Deadlift max reps in 60s (#275/#405)
•Bench Press max reps (#115/225)
•1 Mile Run (way more difficult than expected after competing in the Miami heat for 2 hours 😅)

Shout out to all the other moms out there getting after it!

Yesterday, I talked about competing without making the result responsible for my identity.

But if the result does not define you, why compete at all?

Because competition shows you what your preparation has built.

After months of training, I finished Apex with a score of 639 and ran a 4.615 in the 40.

I am proud of that showing.

The training transferred.

I was able to compete across multiple events, trust my preparation and perform when it mattered.

Testing does not only expose your weaknesses.

It confirms your strengths.

It rewards consistency.

It shows you how far you have come and gives you clarity about where you can still improve.

That is why objective results matter.

You do not need the number to determine your worth, but you can use it as evidence of what your work produced.

I am leaving Apex encouraged, grateful and even more motivated for the next phase.

Most importantly, thank you to my wife, @ahcathers for supporting me and believing in me every step of the way.

Thank you to @overtimeathletes and @otastpete for giving me the environment and support to prepare for this.

Thank you to @pedullaperformance for programming my training and helping me arrive ready to compete.

And thank you to @apexathlete.official and @timrileytraining for creating an incredible event that gives athletes the opportunity to test themselves and have SOMETHING TO MF TRAIN FOR!

A score of 639 is evidence that the process is working.

Now we build from it.

700 soon.

The last 8 weeks were HELL. 😤🔥

Got the invite to @apexathlete.official in Miami, and as most of you know, I’m a speed guy. Switching up my programming to incorporate more endurance into my lifts was a whole different kind of battle. 😂

My crew at @xtremeperformancetraining pushed me to go, so we made it happen!

Am I pissed about my overall numbers? Absolutely. Didn’t finish the mile, and that’s on me. But the goal was a 4.3 Fast 40, and WE DID JUST THAT. 🏁💨

Beyond the competition, I got to network, connect, and learn from some of the best trainers in the game. Always a blessing to be around like-minded people who push the industry forward. 🙏🏾

Back to the drawing board. More work to do. No excuses.

Appreciate @apexathlete.official for finally giving me something to train for! Blessed for the opportunity and hungry for what’s next. SLIDEE✅

THE STANDARD DOESN’T CHANGE. BACK TO WORK⚡️
