POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Having just returned from the Radiesse Global Longevity Summit, it may take me a while to get over this one. The word longevity - like any trending term - is used everywhere now, and often inappropriately.

On stage, I heard from friends and colleagues - who have directly contributed to much of the research and evidence we now lean on, to better inform our decisions and those of our patients. We heard the science across a huge breadth of areas from menopause, to GLP-1s, to peptides, to diet and so much more. But what impressed me is that there was an honesty about what is still unanswered and what questions should be asked.

The surprise highlight for me was when my place got moved a few seats, only to find I was sat next to none other than David Sinclair from Harvard University. Genuinely, his is the ONLY podcast I have listened to in full, to date. For me that really was a wow moment.

Thank you to Merz for giving medics like me the opportunity to meet, discuss, debate and challenge the important issues of today, to help us all tomorrow. 🙏

"100% would recommend UltraClear®."

My scarring has been with me a long time. Long after the acne calmed down, it stayed, and so did the way it made me feel.

I’ve spent years noticing it before anyone else could. Checking mirrors, angling my face, wondering if that’s what people saw first.

So handing my skin over to someone isn’t easy for me. I’ve sat in appointments feeling rushed and sold to, and walked out feeling smaller than when I went in.

Dr Dev was the first person who slowed down. He asked how it really made me feel, and I ended up telling him more than I expected. He was honest about what he could and couldn’t do, and somehow that made me trust him more.

If your skin has made you feel like this too, please find someone who sees you, not just your skin. It matters more than you think.

Thank you @drdevpatel1 for looking after me 🤍

Just a few moments from a fast-paced and incredible 48 hours in Toronto last week. Thank you to @plasmatology_group for the gracious invitation to speak at their annual summit.

My schedule was meticulously handled (special thanks to Clarissa and June!), my hosts could not have been any warmer, and the attendees were impressively engaged right till when it finished at 2230! Every aspect of the summit was superbly organised.

Day 2 was a workshop led by one of the pioneers of ‘Soft Surgery’ @sotiris.tsioumas and again, the hunger for knowledge from the attendees was evident; I was sharing tips and tricks right until I got dropped off to the airport!

Thanks to Kim and all, for making my first trip to Canada 🇨🇦 such a memorable one but the next visit must be longer!

Day five after NeoGen, and my skin is feeling almost back to normal. There are still a couple of small areas peeling, but overall, my complexion is looking fresh and glowing.

I’m already really happy with my skin quality thanks to my skincare routine. My main reason for having NeoGen was to address skin laxity, while also supporting improvements in texture and tone. I’m looking forward to seeing how my skin continues to settle and change over time.

GF5 and Stress Defence have been my go-to duo throughout recovery, helping keep my skin feeling comfortable and hydrated.

The peeling is nearly over, and I’m excited to see how the results develop in the weeks ahead.

Before you get into the treatment chair, ask yourself: have I actually had a proper consultation?

A few minutes chatting about what you want, followed by a quick mention of bruising and swelling, is nowhere near enough.

You should understand what’s being proposed, why it’s suitable for you, the risks, the alternatives and what happens if something goes wrong.

For first timers, particularly with fillers, I generally recommend a consultation on a separate day. You need time to think, ask questions and make an informed decision.

If those conversations aren’t happening, that’s a big red flag. 🚩 Don’t get in the chair.

Clinic spotlight: Perfect Skin Solutions, Portsmouth.

Every clinic network has a first partner. Ours is Dr Dev Patel's Perfect Skin Solutions, the first clinic in the UK to offer LDM® Triple.

Dr Dev uses it both as a treatment in its own right and to support skin recovery after other procedures. The Tweakments Guide picked out his LDM® Triple work in Portsmouth in its trending treatments for 2026.

For patients across Hampshire and the south coast, it means a course of treatment without travelling to London.

Find every LDM® Triple clinic through the link in our bio.

In part two, Simon talks about something I hear often in clinic: “Is it really worth doing this for myself?”

If something about your appearance bothers you every day, I don’t think you need to justify wanting to address it. What that decision means to someone is personal, and Simon explains it far better than I could.

Dr Dev Patel has had LDM® Triple in his clinic in the UK for twelve months. He is a UK partner rather than a UAE one, and that is why this is worth posting here: it is a year of real use in another market, from someone who had no particular reason to be interested.

“To be honest, I really wasn't interested in any devices. I've got lots in the clinic and I feel I can address most things.”

What changed his mind was where it sits. Most devices in an aesthetic clinic work through thermal microinjury: heat the tissue, trigger a repair response. Non-thermal ultrasound does not do that, which is why it tends to run alongside what a clinic already owns rather than competing with it for the same appointment.

The full interview is just under five minutes and covers how he built his case studies, what he treated, and where he would put it on a menu. It is on our YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/0w17ggYP4KQ

Thank you to @drdevpatel1 and the team at @perfect_skinsolutions.

Simon is a gym nut and I had the privilege of being trained by him some years back. One morning, at about 6am, he asked what I actually called myself. An aesthetic doctor? A plastic surgeon? A GP? I told him I liked to think of myself as a confidence doctor.

At the time, I had no idea how much he was carrying. After 31 years in the Royal Marines and the police, Simon had been hospitalised with severe PTSD. His marriage had ended, he’d been medically retired, and his confidence had gone with it.

Hearing him say that I helped him feel confident again means a great deal to me. This is my ‘why?’ (Sinek fans will get that)

Thank you, Simon, for trusting us with your story and telling it so openly. Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing more of his journey over the next few videos.
