Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,

yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.

The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.

Habakkuk 3:17-19

living a lifestyle where your health and healing are number one is not easy

abstaining from so much of what this world offers brings many beautiful rewards, but it requires massive daily sacrifice

I am so lucky that my partner, my husband, my person @petermpearson has always been supportive of me

when we met, I was a vegan who sometimes ate eggs. we lived in New York City at the time so being vegan wasn’t unheard of and we would still go out

over time I stopped drinking coffee, eating baked goods, drinking alcohol, and eventually stopped getting takeout or eating at most restaurants

this transition wasn’t always easy for us. Peter wanted to experience life still and I would go out but wouldn’t eat. it wasn’t the same. we had to mourn the life we had. but Peter always knew that what I was doing was important to me so he made space for it and supported me

after years of seeing me invest in my health every day, my partner wants to do the same

all of us have something we’d like to improve when it comes to our health, whether it’s persistent symptoms that have followed us since childhood, a bit of extra weight that just won’t come off, skin that won’t clear, or something more disruptive like chronic anxiety, insomnia, or brain fog

at a certain point, you decide to do whatever it takes to overcome those challenges and make health your number one

we just completed 10 weeks of the mono eating cleanse out of Cleanse to Heal by @medicalmedium

Peter has lost weight he’s been wanting to lose for over a decade. my digestion is better than it’s ever been. nerve sensitivity has reduced. Peter got over a bug he caught in days when our friends were sick with it for weeks

I’ve completed my cleanse, but Peter wants to go for at least 100 days. he caught a new bug - the “I want to see how healthy I can be” bug, which is the best bug we can catch

I’m so grateful to have someone like him by my side. someone who may not have always understood the sacrifices I was making, but who was always curious and supportive anyway

I pray that everyone might be as lucky as I am to have a love that grows and evolves with all of life’s changes
