The first time I opened a concert for you was in 2021, at UB City in Bangalore. It was the biggest crowd I had ever played for. I didn't meet you that day though.

The first time we met was after the second show I opened for you, in Ahmedabad. I remember being so happy just to get a picture with you.

And then in 2022, we travelled across India with the band, with Mezaan and Taawwuz. Goa, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Siliguri, Bangalore, Majuli.

And Guwahati, my hometown, where you met my mom, my dad and my sister right before our show.

I grew up in a middle class Marwadi household, and a lot of people had their doubts about my parents letting me do music instead of sitting with my dad at our dukaan. That night, they finally got to see why.

Five years later, I'm back in Bangalore. Drinking our Farmhouse Estates coffee with you on random Tuesdays. Joking around with you, writing songs and singing them with you.

Every once in a while I think about chances, and how I ended up here. How people meet people in this world without making a big deal out of it, usually.

But you've always taught me to be in the present and keep doing our best with whatever we get. So I think less and less about how I got here, or where I'll go from here.

I have always felt loved around you, and somehow you've always brought out the best in me.

I feel so much love within me these days. All I want is to put it out into the world, through my art and my music. In all the ways I can.

I've learnt so much from you, and so much about you, in these last few years. You've inspired me to become the person I am, in ways I'll never be able to explain and even you wouldn't have realised.

I hope life gives you back everything you've given so many of us.

What you hear on stage is only as good as what happens before it.

Sound check is where levels are balanced, monitors are tested, microphones are checked and every technical detail gets fine-tuned so that when the artist steps on stage, there’s nothing left to second-guess.
