Following two further years of house renovations I can finally revisit artworks that have been waiting patiently to be admired and appreciated.
This beautiful piece by Maria Pierides was one that I was reluctant to return after an exhibition, my sister acquired another similar piece from the same series.
When it was time to eventually return the piece, Maria gifted it to me for my big birthday last October.
We have painted this wall using paint left over from the gallery…so I feel I have my own gallery at home now too.
Thank you Maria… I love it 🌸🧡💙🍓

Meridian Diptych By Maria Pierides

To get the true sence of scale you have to see the artwork in the flesh… you can then feel the rhythm for the brush strokes, feel the depth of the colours and see the texture of the paint…
Last week of Blush till 4th July….

The back wall of the gallery doesn’t get many reels here on Instagram as it’s tricky to cover and always looks best in the flesh…but it’s looking so fab in the sunshine I thought I had to share…

A retrospective look at the garden room for the Lore Of The Leaves exhibition… while I was looking for this reel I realised I had never posted it. Sometimes you don’t want to give away too much here in Instagram.. you want visitors to the gallery to not have seen it all before they come.
Mel and Jess of @the.naturetable dressed this room out so magically for this spring show making it the perfect setting for
#cermamics by John Snocken, Linda Unsworth, Adrift Pottery and Margaret Brampton.
#paintings by Maria Pierides, Arwel Micah and Veronika Lavey

The Stories We Tell Ourselves I
Mixed Media on Canvas
100 x 100 cm

Through her work @pieridesmaria aims to render in colour the stories of the physical and emotional landscapes that formed her experiences of being born in Greece and then growing up in England and Cyprus and now living in Wales.

The process of her painting relates to this theme, using mixed media, to build up and scrape back areas of paint to capture the atmosphere, mass, and light of the landscapes that she is aiming to depict.
