On Saturday, August 15, the non-profit House of Panama (@houseofpanama) hosted a Panamanian Festival showcasing the country's diversity in San Diego, CA. Balboa Park served as the perfect backdrop to highlight La cultura canalera 🇵🇦☀️ #Chiriqui #LasTablas #Boquete #centralamerica #pty🇵🇦

✨ One hundred years cannot be counted simply in candles, it is measured in generations, memories, love, and a legacy that continues to live through an entire family. ✨

What an extraordinary blessing it was to celebrate the 100th birthday of the beautiful Ms. Alma Bonner! 🎂👑

The afternoon was filled with delicious Panamanian food, family, laughter, and the vibrant colors and traditions of Panamá. 🇵🇦

A very special part of the celebration was the beautiful folkloric presentation by Panamá: Mola, Pollera y Tambor (@pmpt_org). Their performance of El Punto, featuring Director Joaquin and Vianeth who made her dancing debut was a beautiful and fitting tribute to Ms. Alma and her Panamanian heritage. 💃🏾🇵🇦✨

And just when we thought the entertainment was over, the cousins took the floor and turned the celebration into their own unforgettable dance show! 😂💃🏾🕺🏾 Watching the younger generation laugh, dance, and celebrate together made the day even more special.

To sit beside a woman who has witnessed an entire century is a moment I will never forget. Ms. Alma’s life is a living legacy and seeing her surrounded by generations of love was truly beautiful.

Happy 100th Birthday, Ms. Alma! May God continue to cover you with His grace and surround you with the love and joy you have inspired for an entire century. 🙏🏾❤️🎉

100 years. One remarkable woman. A beautiful Panamanian legacy. 🇵🇦✨

I’m a huge fan of hometown hero’s!

Someone who I have looked up to since I moved to LA was @barack_obutta . He’s been a major presence in his own community making sure whatever he offers its to the people of South Central first.

I also look up to @jazzysworldtv . She is someone who I see myself in! First generation, Panameña , journalist/reporter, and this specific energy that makes everyone want to just smile around her!

At the Panama 🇵🇦 vs England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 game I seen @jazzysworldtv and said I need to get a picture! She was super kind and said “ no problem “ . But I told myself when would this moment happen again? So I asked “ could I interview you? “ she yet again agreed and said “ sure “ .

We spoke about the game, being panameña , and most of all what’s she most prideful about being from Panama 🇵🇦. Thank you for representing our culture and always speaking about being panameña 🇵🇦.

When I tell you I’m a true believer of God and how he works in mysterious ways! This has not only encouraged me but pushed me to start my IG @thejourneyandjersey

Thank you all for viewing! Thank you Jazzy! #Panama #fifaworldcup2026 #journalist #afrolatino #507pty🇵🇦

Telemundo came to Artesia this morning!

It was exciting to see our community featured live from Katrina's Mexican Kitchen as Telemundo covered the Panama soccer team and the excitement building for the World Cup.

A huge thank you to Katrina's Mexican Kitchen for being such incredible hosts and showcasing what makes Artesia special!

A special thank you to PMPT for bringing so much energy and Panamanian pride, and to Dan Rocha for helping make this opportunity happen.

I was happy to help behind the scenes, arriving at 4:00 a.m. with others to help prepare for the two live news segments. We wrapped up around 8:30 a.m., and it was worth every early minute to see Artesia on television.

It's always great to see national media shine a spotlight on our local businesses and community.
