Had a great time out there on a guided trip with Trevor all the way from England! We had a banger of a session with multi species action including buffalo, carp, catfish, a 40lb soft shell turtle, and even a surprise crawfish that wanted to throw hands🦞

Camp Bass 2026, what a week it was.
You never know what life will throw at you, like blowing a break caliper on the drive down and losing the trim pin on the motor. For some reason this week always slows me down a bit. Takes me back to being a kid who just wanted to fish every chance he got. I see pieces of myself in a lot of these kids. Although the fishing was rough on me this week I managed to help find the kids a few Lake Fork Largies. I hope they got some of my northern knowledge on a body of water I am very much still learning about. Camp Bass has its 20th anniversary next year so stay on the lookout for announcements about next year’s camp! Big things coming for Camp Bass 2027!

Alligator gar are incredible prehistoric creatures that have shaped and stewarded our water ways for the last 147 million years. They are native and beneficial and make a great sportfish for anglers to target. It takes about 20 years afor a gar to reach 6 foot and about 40 years to reach 7 foot. After they hit 7 foot their growth rate absolutely plummets to .2 inches of growth a year. #conservation #alligatorgar #sportfishing #nature #explore

Pro tip: It helps if you don't get a hook in your finger to begin with, but if you do this is how you get it out. Big thanks @huntermayofishing for doing the honors

Camp Bass 2025

Always love coming back to a place that means so much to me. The land of oil rigs never disappoints. Thank you to Danny & Lori Gove for allowing all of us alumni to come and give back to these incredible kids. As a bonus I landed my biggest largie ever at 7-4. Until next time Texas. 🇺🇸🎣
