Absolutely MEGA day with Lewis Bastin yesterday! We smashed my guide service record with this 68lb 4oz beast. 3rd guided 60+ of 2026 and the biggest one I’ve seen in person since my 71. Another fantastic day at the world’s best buffalo fishery✌🏻

As always @prolinebaits and @westcoastbaitboats putting giant fish on the bank. Loaded up my sidekick boat with plenty of particles and mixed proline boilies. New mulberry cream bio-gel on the ball of soybean pack bait with a banana toffee boilie got it done. We dropped the rig on a hard spot and it did not take long for the screaming run that produced this beast!

I want to start by saying a huge thank you to everyone that helped me learn how to catch these awesome fish. I am living my dreams from when I was in grade school right now and I would not be here without all the help from you guys along the way🫶🏻

Without further ado here is the biggest fish ever caught in Austin city limits

71lbs 10oz!! New Lady Bird lake record (previous record was this same fish caught at 64lbs)

The weighing and photographing of this beast was filmed and will be posted on @carpandbuffs youtube channel!

Man I am just speechless. This is the last thing I expected to catch when I left the house this morning. To say I am over the moon is an understatement!!

@prolinebaits is the only bait you need to catch a fish of this caliber. My @fish_shimano_north_america ultegra handled this fish without issue. Just in disbelief to land this fish that I have chased for years🔥🔥 taken in Austin, Texas by @texascarpguide

Had a great time out there on a guided trip with Trevor all the way from England! We had a banger of a session with multi species action including buffalo, carp, catfish, a 40lb soft shell turtle, and even a surprise crawfish that wanted to throw hands🦞 taken in Texas Hill Country by @texascarpguide

Cooler weather always gets these big buffalo hungry! Such a great session with @chris.m.cook and Mary Ann the past couple days. We were lucky to get 3 trophy class buffalo landed during the session. This fish is the biggest one I’ve seen in several months on my guided trips and turned the scale dial all the way to 55lbs 14oz! Great time out there with @martyarostegui celebrating his 80th birthday in style! It was a tough trip on the fly fishing front this time but we got it done with 2 more potential IGFA world records on fly gear! 19.5lbs on 8lb tippet and 22lbs on 6lb tippet

Good vibes on the water on this fine Saturday🤘🏻

Great trip out there with Robert and Nelly! We had a PB common and a PB grasser hit the mat today. It got busy with boats but they are going back for round 2 later today!

It has been an awesome couple of days fishing with Marty and Roberta Arostegui! Roberta landed this 44lb 2oz beast today, part of a 4 buffalo haul!

Proline boilies are putting in work! Pineapple extreme and banana toffee have both been hot today

Can’t wait to get after it next week! Got a full week of fly fishing boat trips on LBJ🤘🏻
