💪⚽️ Ralphie’s S&C with Sunderland PDC & PROformance! 🔴⚪️

Football isn’t just about running around kicking a ball these days! ⚽️ The game has evolved, and so has the training that goes with it. 💪

Working on athleticism, strength, agility, explosive starts, quick feet and fast sprints are all important parts of developing into an all-round footballer! 🚀

Ralphie absolutely LOVES his strength and conditioning sessions, and it’s brilliant seeing him learning new things, building confidence and working on himself both on and off the ball. ❤️

He even loves practising his box jumps at home… when he finally gets the hang of them, that is! 😂😂 Plenty of practice needed, little man! 🤣💪

Massive thanks to Sunderland PDC & PROformance for these fantastic opportunities and helping Ralphie develop his game. The hard work continues! 👏⚽️

Small steps, big dreams! ❤️🤍

Another Proformance session tonight with Ralphie through his Sunderland PDP ⚽️💪

He absolutely loves his Mondays and Tuesdays! ❤️ He’s having so much fun while learning and developing all the skills he needs to become a real all-round footballer.

Tonight was all about strength and conditioning, working on becoming stronger, more explosive and powerful both on and off the ball. 💪⚡️

And of course, having his little football mate Jude there makes it even better! 🥰 These two are just too cute together — they literally laugh their way through the whole session 😂⚽️

We love seeing Ralphie enjoying his football, learning new things and growing in confidence every week. Keep working hard, little man! ❤️⚽️

⚽️💪 Another fantastic opportunity for Ralphie through the Sunderland AFC Foundation of Light PDP ❤️🤍

Tonight was something a little different, with a session through PROformance Athletic Training, focusing on strength, conditioning, movement and athletic development.

It’s all about building those foundations and helping Ralphie get stronger and more powerful on the pitch. 💪⚽️ Definitely time to beef the boy up a little bit! 😂

He worked so hard, as always, and really enjoyed the different type of training. Every new experience and every extra session is another opportunity for him to learn, develop and improve.

We love watching our little Riverside Juniors PSG baller grow and develop — keep working hard, Ralphie! ❤️⚽️

Sport can build so much more than performance.
It should build confidence.
Resilience.
Self-belief.
Too often, children are pushed to specialise too early or left with a one-size-fits-all approach to PE.
Beyond Ascent is different.
A pathway where education and athletic development work together so children don’t have to choose between the two.
Because the goal isn’t just better athletes.
It’s young people who feel strong, capable and ready for life.

Curious? Come and see it for yourself. Enquire and come to our next discovery evening.

Sport & Exercise Science had an excellent workshop with Lee Moore from @proformance__ today focused on sports injury assessment and management 🏃‍♂️💪

It was a great opportunity to learn how to better support athletes through injury, develop effective recovery plans, and continue working with them safely during rehabilitation.

A really valuable and hands-on session! 🏋🏽🩻

Fit for sport. Fit for life.

Education and athletic excellence. Together, not separate.

Beyond Ascent is a partnership between Open Air Education and Proformance Athlete Development.

It’s a pathway for students in Key Stages 2 to 4 (from age 8) who want to build confidence, strength and lifelong fitness all while thriving academically.

Know a young athlete who would thrive in this environment? Get in touch and we’ll give you the details.
