Please meet my friend and coworker at the Cherokee Family Violence Center, Noemi Perez.

Outside of her day job, which she loves doing, helping to redirect and provide resources for women fleeing Dometic Violence, Noemi, is the Founder and Executive Director for 'Project Set Free' @projectsetfree. They do exactly what the name says, they curate, implement, facilitate programs, support groups, emergency content, therapy workshop and encouragement for women and girls who are survivors of Sexual Abuse.

Alot of times we look at people and say how can they offer help, do they even know anything about what we are going through, but let me tell you this, Noemi is Kin to this.

What do I mean by that? In the book of Ruth, Boaz was called the Kinsman Redeemer, He had to be Kin to Ruth to be able to change her circumstance...well do you get it now?? Noemi, familiarly known as MiMi, knows and carries that same passion for touching the lives of these girls and redirecting them to the true source of healing...God.

Help me welcome this sweetheart, my friend and soon to be announced, ALS project partner.

Mimi, it is truly a pleasure anticipating these 4 months being in your space and I can't wait to come and share in one of your sessions.

Let's talk Identity just a little bit. ...

I identify as a Female (she and her).
I identify as a Bible believing Christian
I identify as a Black Woman from the Caribbean
I identify as a Nonprofit Leader and consultant
I identify as an Orphan who has been adopted
I identify as a Sexual assault survivor
I identify as a Foster mother to two beautiful black Caribbean girls
I identify as a Worshipper
I identify as so many other things that are just too much to list here.

Last night I took out the braids (twists) in my hair and was left with my own hair. I panicked all night as to how I would look in the morning. What would persons think of me when they saw that my hair was not long and bouncy as when they first met me.

I was so nervous, embarrassed and a little timid that I literally prayed that God would work a miracle and let my hair grew overnight or give me some creativity in the morning.

By the time I woke up and wash my hair, all the time I had left was to comb it through, oil it and put a headband around my puff... then came Tina (my Host mom) @eightinmyzoo_tina as I stepped out the door and walked to the car. "WOW, I love your hair. That is beautiful too".

That was literally the only encouragement I needed to step gracefully into the rest of my Sunday. To realign with who I am.

How easy it is for us to forget our true identity and be swept up by what the world thinks of us or what we think the world is thinking of us and how it sees us, as opposed to how God sees us. A real Princess with a beautiful Crown accessorized with our amazing smiles and unique personalities.

May you never forget your TRUE IDENTITY this week!!!!

RESCUERS!!!! .........."WE ARE NOT RESCUERS"

My Host Collaborator at the Cherokee Family Violence Center said this statement today on our way home from my first Outreach with the organization.

At first I paused when she said it because if we are not rescuing people from their situations and the negative impact of social ills on their lives then what are we doing?

But she started to say that what we do is offer the services, offer solutions, offer a safety plan, offer access to resources, offer a pathway to healing and recovery BUT that is all we do, OFFER.

It is really up to individual to decide and make the decision to access those resources and following the informed guidance that is given or make up their mind to go through the process of healing and recovery and all that it comes with.

So though I fell a stabbing pain in my chest that we can't rescue everyone because we would love to. I have to be reminded that like my Father, Jesus Christ, who offered the way to a better life, every one has to choose. The only thing I can do is never be weary in well doing. Never give up in providing access, in providing information, never stop sharing my testimonies and my deliverance stories. Never stop talking about the Goodness of God and what He has done for me and how He has turned my life around.

My role now is to not rescue but to Plant The Seed of Hope, Help and Healing.

SOJOURNER

I first met this word when I was reading the Bible in Chronological order., and God had sent Abram to Egypt because where he currently lived was experiencing a Famine. And if there is one thing with God, He will do anything to ensure that His purpose and promises are fulfilled and nothing hinders the life time commitment He has to you and your generation.

I had long forgotten about this Word until I was about 3 weeks to leave Jamaica 🇯🇲 for my Fellowship and I was desperate to find Housing. The housing market in the US overall has skyrocketed, I was only getting a stipend that covered the basics, so I had to get alittle creative. When desperation hit, someone at my church said, why don't you look for a church in the vicinity of Canton and see if they can help. I did just that and the whole thing was just God's timing one after another, and day 12 of the 8th month (New Beginnings) I met Tina for the first time and moved into her beautiful home. And in less that a few hours I came to learn that her door is literally always opened.

So this will be where I will be SOJOURNED until I leave in November.

My prayer is always this..... where ever the Lord allows me to enter, rest, refresh or refuel. I always pray that the anointing of blessing, overflow, and supernatural favor will evade and permeate their dwelling. I pray that what ever seed they sowed into my life, will never leave their life but will come back full circle a hundred fold. That is my prayer for the Williams Family this Season.

🌾There are moments in life that you don’t want to diminish by posting them on Social Media. So for a couple of weeks I’ve been holding on to this amazing time.

🌾 The time I was needing some refreshing for my soul and some good #sisterhood bonding. The Lord miraculously made a way for 7 girls to meet up in #TN to enjoy a time of #soulcare and spiritual renewal.

- We started the days leaning into Gods presence, learning about spiritual disciplines and stretching our bodies.

🌾We ended this time at “The Own The Light” conference w/ @karriescottgarcia, @tonijcollier and @tanyagodsey
I felt so blessed to have been able to experience such a time of healing and restoration. These women don’t know me, but they have been ministering to me via their online ministries. God has used them to speak to places that have never been touched. They have shed light into some dark spaces I didn’t even know were still there. It was an honor to have met them in person and express my gratitude.
I want to thank them for their obedience and their realness.
This week could not have ended any better.

Good morning sisters and brothers who intercede!

A prayer request
Please pray for those vulnerable to human trafficking. Those being sold and trafficked for either labor or sex trafficking. Pray for the parents in poverty and that have debt that causes them to sell their children to repay those debts.

Please pray for the traffickers that they would be uprooted from evil and the love of money. That would be healed from any abuse or anything that became an opportunity to trafficking or to feel empowered to traffic people.
Pray for the countries that legalize prostitution. That it would turn over in Jesus name!

Pray for the countries that are labor trafficking! That their government would produce opportunities and be for the people!

Pray for the organizations, medical care givers, parents/families , government task forces, legal teams, therapists, and safe houses
for strength, protection, hope, wealth, and wisdom.
Pray for the churches that intercede or donate and are bridging the gap for those who answered the call, that they would be blessed and create more connections for the church to be the hands and feet!

Pray for the healing from this traumatic and horrific experience. That Jesus would renew, heal, and restore!

I believe that though evil is real....so is the power of prayer in agreement and strategic prayer!
Jesus and his blood can do the impossible! Let us pray and believe in God's supernatural power meeting our prayers!

Thank you and may you be blessed for standing in the gap with prayers.
