POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

What a month (or two) it has been, Bartholomew. From meeting the incomparable Rachel Gillig and R.F. Kuang to having my bestie @the_bookworm_affair visit me in Scotland and hunt for gargoyles with me. (From booksta mutuals to fellow authors and soulmates, I’m pretty sure 🖤)

In any case, it has been a month of meeting the most talented, brilliant, incredible women who inspire me immensely.

The castles and the swords inspire me also (can’t forget the swords) ⚔️

What’s your best memory from the month prior? (I’m nosy) 👀

👋🏼 Hi, if this is your first time here, welcome!! I’m Jessica and I’m writing an upper YA fantasy series about faeries earning their wings. Think Cruel Prince x Peter Pan 😏 I’m also working on an adult dual pov urban fantasy where she remembers him (and she isn’t supposed to)!

Here I chat about bookish things, writing updates, and I’m officially querying for trad pub! I would love to connect with readers and writers, so if any of this sounds interesting to you, you’re in the right place. 😁

I made this a story and then realized it should have a permanent spot on the ‘gram. I have ambitious drafting goals for the month of July so I’m spending the rest of June setting the groundwork. Getting some good reading done, outlining, and preparing the query letter (see slide 2 for a sneak peak).

You all voted in my stories about which manuscript I should work on next. Tragic love story won out. Don’t worry, paranormal romance lovers. That one will be book four. 🤗

What are your goals for the next few months?? (Tagging a few accountability buddies if they want to share theirs).

Thought I’d join the fun with this trend 🖤 Post layout inspired by @lilyyascorner

This was so much harder than I expected 🥲 And yes, most of these are variations of a witch or a vampire, and I stand by it.

If you’re tagged I’m nominating you to do this because I’m curious 💭

Swipe till the end to see me look like the true Slavic grandma I am. 🧹 Infinitely grateful for having the best team of Beta readers one could ask for. Your feedback, insight (and completely unhinged comments) have been invaluable. I could never thank you enough.

P.S. I sincerely apologise for the pain and devastation I have caused & making you cry on your reading devices in the wee hours of the morning (I will do it again).

‘Echoes of the Inbetween’ is a dark fantasy romance based on Slavic mythology. Murdered 19th-century witch Olena strikes a deadly bargain for revenge with Baba Yaga and uncovers dark secrets with her reluctant underworld guide, Lazar. 🗡️

Taking the plunge and sharing some of my poetry for the first time 🖋️💭

I have found through the hardest of times, community and support is a lifeline. This one is for the lovely souls in my life, who make it worth living.

After about half a year of EFA courses and seminars (and written out notebooks), she emerges with an attempted soft launch that turned into a hard launch because she was too impatient. ✨

I'm so excited for this next step, you guys, and so so passionate about it! 📜

Last year I posted my Jude Duarte Halloween costume and it kind of changed my life.

Thanks to the #SamhainInTheBrugh costume tag I got to talking w/ @the_bookworm_affair
Not only did we share a love for the work of @blackholly but also our passion for writing. A year on and I cannot imagine life without Du. Her friendship is one I treasure so deeply and she is one of the best humans I will ever meet.

Working in tireless writing sprints together we managed to complete those novels we always dreamt about (mine, a Slavic folklore fantasy, hers a science fantasy).

We attended a major writer’s festival in London, travelling to meet in person (yay!). We even received full manuscript requests on our very first try. ✨

All this to say, you never know what a year may bring. Write that book. Post and indulge in what makes you happy. Always. It might just change your life.

Thought this would be a fun post to do, and then realised picking only five of my favourite things is a torturous endeavour. 🥲

A bit of everything here. From a vampire/horror fixation very early on to A Knight’s Tale igniting my interest in all things medieval. And, of course, the 90s and 2000s classics (I wish I could have fit ‘10 things I hate about you’ & ‘13 going 30’)!

What is one piece of art/media that has helped shape you?

Inspired by my dearest friend @the_bookworm_affair and her starting this challenge! #sffwriterchallenge2025

Day 1: Introduce yourself and what you write.

Heyyyy! I'm Larissa! Book lover, and author for all the good girls who want a morally gray elf king to knock on their door. I see you. 🌶🔥

I always write with passion, heart, and a deep understanding of what it is to be human.

I'm so glad to have you here. 🥰

P.S. the book featured in my photo (that I forgot to flip) is Tournament of Kings by @rjsmith4 and is absolutely worth a binge read ❤️💜
