The light has begun sweeping through the curtains. It isn’t quite dawn yet, but it isn’t late at night. My heart is racing so fast that it stands a good chance of entering the Melbourne Cup. My entire body is running hot and cold endlessly; it is so overwhelming that it’s woken me up. This isn’t normal, I think – scanning my body immediately for anything worse. I can’t register pain. My mind jumps ten steps ahead, I go through the potential motions of getting out of bed and waking my Mum up. I can see us driving to the hospital and being told this is something sinister.

Lifting my hands and stretching up, I lift my winter pajama top over my head as I try to relax back into the sheets. My mind starts running to make sense of why I’m so hot.

Then it hit me—could this be simply because it’s almost summer and I’m in full winter gear?

My anxiety has been through the roof recently.

I assume the worst of everything – a feeling I can try explaining to those around me, but few truly understand.

Realizing that it may be time to change up my summer duvet, I came down from my incoming panic attack and landed back on earth, finally, a logical solution.

I breathe deeply; I imagine myself breathing love into my solar plexus. I imagine love infecting me through every inch of my veins and being. I imagine myself exhaling this fear that has riddled me. Soon enough, I feel my breath return, and my body cools.

It suffocates me how bad I can personally make my world; it seems too good to be true that I can change everything in a single reframe of my thoughts.

I am reminded of how fragile I am.

I am reminded of how powerful I am.

I am reminded that there is an invitation to find the light at any moment and, better yet, to become it. Poetry, quote, writing, self help, mindfulness

Have faith in yourself. 🙏
We sometimes don't read the clues the universe keeps giving us like in a mystery game. 🔍
The universe speaks to us through signs. Signs that your heart understands. It's a secret language between the universe and you. 🧭
When you align yourself with the universe you allow yourself to let things happen how they are supposed to happen and not what your mind is craving to have.😶‍🌫️
As the mind constantly seeks temporary pleasures and pushes us to take action towards those pleasures later making us feel resentful, sad, annoyed, disappointed, and unsatisfied.🫤
On the other hand, the heart gives those gentle signs that truly make you happy.🥰
Once you come in alignment where your heart and mind work together and not against each other. 🤝
When your opinion on one thing from the mind is the same as what your heart is feeling that's where the magic happens. 🤍🤎🧡
The universe confides what is truly meant for you. You experience and receive not what you want but what you truly need...💞💓

OPEN DIALOGUE. Author Cassandra Grodd @quoteswithcass @cassandragrodd: The archaic narrative and pressure to settle down

A man so beautiful that he could be carved from the gods himself is sitting beside me and rolling a blunt. “Do you smoke?” he said as his silhouette lit up just enough for my heart to skip ten beats. “Only to impress cute boys”.
He laughed; “You don’t have to.”
