Highlight of the summer 🌞 ☁️ Curating my first group show with 12 artists, a walkthrough of 11 zines, and hosting 7 events in 3 weeks for @goodneighborkingston’s 1st birthday.

When we first toured @thedrawkingston, I knew this exhibition was an opportunity I wanted to seize wholeheartedly. We could tell our story right in Midtown Kingston and young people would be regularly entering the space.

I wanted Dream Come True to be DIY maximalist, immersive, impressive, inspiring. For a kid to walk in and go, “Whoa, an artist in Kingston did that? I want to do that.” Just like I did when I saw the wild things artists could do growing up in Kansas City.

I have so much thanks I want to give to the people that made this exhibit possible - to the participating artists and Good Neighbor editors, to Midtown Kingston Arts District @mkadkingston staff for providing support for our show to thrive, and to all the hosts and performers of the events bringing so many folks into the space. Thank you all sincerely.

Thank you to our show sponsors @archtopfiber and @timelysignsofkingston for providing signage. These Kingston businesses made it possible for our indie art show to show up as a professional exhibition.

This celebration showed me how generous people can be when they believe in your vision and have the creativity to make it happen. It is truly a privilege to get to live in such a magical place and work with so many talented people. I could overflow with gratitude.

And a special thank you to @bridgetbadore for capturing our last day on medium format film and digital 💗 You don’t know how much these photos mean to me.

Heart of Midtown is an annual street festival put on by the fine folks at @rewindkingston as a way to provide and support local mental health resources.

And, yet again, they had a stellar lineup of music across three stages; dozens of local organizations hosting activities and freebies (embroidery with @apres.lamour! art with @felttipfeelings!); a film screening at @upstate_films; and a whole lot more.

Watch through the reel to see aerial footage of pie-eating contestants face-planting into pies from @littleryebakehouse

And, of course, footage from musicians @thegingerwinn and Naomi Pierre, who were just two of the 17+ live performances.

I curated a screening in the town where my dad grew up! It’s happening tomorrow night and I’m so excited to show a film by @dukeandbattersby as well!

This screening centers on experiences with mental health and continuing to live despite all the fucked up stuff that can happen. I’m happy to say it is a part of the programming of @heartofmidtown which is an incredible arts festival supporting Kingston mental health organization created by my cousin @reminderstomyfutureself who I will meet for the first time this weekend!!!
