N e s t // So much fun clearing dry brush and branches around our home. I spent days cleaning around the property.

Collecting it all in piles and hauling it to another area with the wheel barrel many times. Little by little the piles turned into a beautiful giant nest.

I wanted to place a bed on top to take naps!

Dylan uses it to make ash for the garden to enrich the soil for the planting season.

With the snow each winter and using it year after year for ash, it has gotten smaller.

Making it was absolutely rewarding.

T e ñ i d o // In Chinchero, we visited an artisan who showed us how she dyes her yarns prior to hand weaving them into stunning textiles.

They use plant dyes, such as leaves, bark, flowers, corn, tubers, earthen clays (and insects) to achieve a large amount of beautiful and rich colors.

They also make their own yarns and threads. Hand washing the fibers to an almost white, ready to take the color. While she showed us the process without the boiling part, to achieve the desired colors, the yarns are always boiled in water with the natural dye and a fixer to set the desired color.

Visit our links in bio to buy the goods Vio makes and also has other artisans made in Peru, and Dylan’s knives that he handcrafts and sells all over the world. You may have caught some of his knives in a few films and TV shows.

P o p - u p L a s t D a y s I I // Early this week on my last days at my pop-up in Sandpoint, Idaho. I’ll be doing by appointment only through end of September. You can always shop online 24/7 worldwide.

Shop link in bio - https://thesageandthebutterfly.square.site for this and more.

If you are in Sandpoint, DM me here or @violetavillacorta to make an appointment.

It has been my first pop-up since I had to take a pause in 2020 and being in Peru a large part of the year since late 2020.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the reception of my pop-up shop by the locals and visitors. Always happy to see them find something special and unique they won’t find anywhere else.

Featuring my natural @violetavillacorta_studio organic cotton collection, ORG BY VIO @junglebling jewelry from the Amazon jungle, the beautiful hand woven textiles from Peru, Dylan’s @sageblades knives, my @violetavillacorta_art and more.

There was even a lady that had missed me a couple of times and insisted on coming back to the store. She finally came in and realized she had shopped at @thesageandthebutterfly many times when I had my store in Idyllwild, California… so serendipitous ✨

M u s h r o o m H u n t i n g // Every fall we go foraging and hunting for delicious mushrooms. Lobster mushrooms are our favorite finds, along with coral mushrooms and others.

Sometimes, even in the spring, we get lucky and encounter some mushrooms growing on our hikes.

We add them to our many yummy dishes we prepare at home with other whole organic ingredients.

They are great sautéed in coconut oil. We also cook sauté them longer to add the Lobster Mushroom chips as toppings on pastas, curries, etc.

Mushroom hunting season is coming soon! We can’t wait!

Visit my new @richveganrecipes account to see my healthy food-focused feed and check out www.richveganrecipes.com to see a sneak peek and get my digital recipe book. Filled with over 100 color photos and recipes. All made with whole organic ingredients. It’s not just for vegans!

You can get my recipe book at link in bio @richveganrecipes or on @thesageandthebutterfly bio and at www.richveganrecipes.com

Many also prefer ordering via Venmo, Apple Pay, Zelle or PayPal and I email them the 150 page recipe book in PDF.

That’s the root meaning of Wealth.

Our temples deserve the best for optimum health. That healthy glow shines through our skin, hair and bodies, beaming with pure vitality.

I wrote Rich + Vegan in 2020, while the world shut down. Compiling my over 100 original recipes that I’ve created in over 10 years as a vegan, to bring you nourishment that is full of flavor and goodness.

You can get my recipe book in digital format - at link in bio.
