POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This is such a cool setup. We normally think of an inciting incident being the thing that kicks off the play, but here the play itself is the inciting incident and we are the play. You never know what's going to spark a fascinating conversation; it's often a simple, day-to-day thing we live with, like food, and the very different relationships we have with it, that open up huge, society-level conversations. It's our basic, fundamental commonalities that bring us together and allow us to understand our differences. It's like that thing where you overhear someone talking on the phone about themselves and it inspires you to go down a whole rabbit hole of introspection about yourself and how you intersect with the rest of the world. Thank you @realtimearts for this ingenious community-building exercise! Go experience it this month!

Even in the bigger space, we had a pretty full house at the reading of the latest draft of #Neighborly @city_theatre — and a warm house, too! The cast pulled it out (even with the three new scenes 😬) and @montezegary and @claredrobot nudged in all the right places. Developmental opportunities for playwrights are becoming increasingly precious in general, but this one is an absolute gem.

It’s a wrap! Thank you to everyone who came out to the event!

The RealTime Arts team took a bow as our Storytelling Series fully concluded on Thursday with the finale Free Ourselves From Stone, Ukrainian Voices Reclaimed.

Big shout out to our amazing actors @hazel_carr @ms_cyn_d @lishdanielle @rvilaroger @kylehadenofficial and musicians @frazefrazenko @marifrazefrazenko, partners @dtcareofficial @heroscompass and volunteers, and of course, St. Peter & St. Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church for providing the site and delicious food!

And special thanks goes to the Ukrainian veterans - Dara, Maryna, and Serhii - who joined us in person and shared their stories!

Thank you for your presence, your post-show thoughts, your donations, and your attention and willingness to listen. All these are invaluable as we continue to develop the music-theater work, "there is a blue that only children see"!

For those who joined us in person last evening, please take a minute and fill out this survey. We'd love to hear your thoughts!

It’s Valentines Day… and here at RealTime Arts we are also celebrating the partnership of our founders, Molly and Rusty. Their first date, 15 years ago– planned during a production meeting (!!) for a musical they were both working on in NYC–led eventually to a creative partnership as well as a personal one. They inspire all the work we do here! Here’s to another year of love, art, and storytelling!
