The Dynamic Vent Hard Shell Jacket from Descente Allterrain might be one of the standout outerwear pieces this year. And honestly, it reinforces why Descente Allterrain is currently one of my favourite brands in this space.

On paper, it’s a high-spec hard shell. Lustrous chambray fabric with strong waterproofing and breathability, paired with a subtle tonal shift that adds depth in motion. But it’s the construction that elevates it.

A cropped length with a voluminous, rounded silhouette improves natural airflow, supported by sleeve-back ventilation zips. Open them and internal pleats expand, revealing laser-cut perforations to release heat. Up front, the Dual Ventilation System uses twin zip channels with mesh to pull in external air.

In wet conditions, the Parahood System prevents water build-up, while Streamline Technology directs rain away from the chest pockets. Snap cuffs and a Cohaesive® hem allow for subtle silhouette adjustment.

A refined, technical rethink of the rain shell and a strong contender for jacket of the year.

Merrell 1TRL introduces the Agility Peak 6 for Spring Summer 26. Built on years of trail running know how, it is designed to handle long miles and unpredictable terrain with confidence.

The shoe is made to feel stable, responsive, and reliable underfoot. A breathable mix of mesh, synthetic, and TPU is reinforced in high wear areas for durability, while recycled lining and natural odor control keep things fresh. A protective rock plate guards against rough ground, the FloatPro midsole adds energy return, and FlexConnect helps maintain stability. Underneath, a Vibram MegaGrip outsole delivers strong traction that adapts to changing surfaces.

To mark the release, Merrell 1TRL teams up with Knees Up on SIGNALS, a campaign shot in the Lake District. The story follows a runner moving freely through the landscape, showing what happens when athlete, environment, and footwear move in sync.

Merrell 1TRL returns for SS26 with a collection built around the idea of Modern Heritage, reworking rugged outdoor function through a cultural and fashion-forward lens. The season explores the tension between past and future, blending traditional craftsmanship with progressive materials and finishes.

Across the range, open meshes, full-grain leathers and textured suedes meet high-shine colour treatments, neoprene elements and Vibram® sole units. New silhouettes sit alongside archival inspirations, reinforcing the crossover between 1TRL and MTL and the shared space between trail performance and exploratory design.

Key highlights include the debut of the Relay Web 1TRL, the Jungle Trek Mule 1TRL and an updated Moab 2 Remix, alongside fresh colourways for MTL performance models. The collection begins landing online and with stockists from 12th February, with additional styles arriving throughout the season.
