🏋️‍♀️ **GETTING BACK INTO THE GYM? DON’T MAKE THESE 4 MISTAKES!** 💙

Been away from training for a while? It’s tempting to jump straight back in where you left off, but your body may need a little time to readjust.

Here are 4 common mistakes to avoid:

❌ **1. Doing too much, too soon**
Start with manageable sessions and gradually build up your weights, reps and training volume.

❌ **2. Expecting to perform at your old level**
Your strength and fitness may have changed — and that’s completely normal!

❌ **3. Ignoring recovery**
Sleep, rest days and adequate nutrition all help support your body’s adaptation to training.

❌ **4. Pushing through worsening pain**
Some muscle soreness can be normal when restarting exercise, but persistent or worsening pain deserves attention.

💪 **The key? Start gradually, be consistent and give yourself time to progress.**

If pain or an injury is making it difficult to get back to training, physiotherapy can help you work towards returning safely and confidently.

This happened in June. A taste of what you’ll find this Saturday as part of the @rossendalearttrail

@muireann_bradley came over from Ireland to play our Sunday matinee at @horseandbamboo , and had the room mesmerised with her voice and incredible guitar playing. Here’s some footage from her set, followed by this beautiful photograph @soule_creative took of her that afternoon.

@freequency3 @lilyraegrant and @blossomcaldarone were also on the lineup. It was a pretty special day.

You’ll find photographs of them in our exhibition this Saturday, including a specially commissioned portrait of FREEQUENCY3 by Jamie Soule. FREEQUENCY3 will also be back for two short live performances at 2pm and 3.30pm, and we’ll be showing a short film on loop featuring some of the footage filmed during the festival.

I’ll be sharing more live footage and photographs throughout the week. It would be lovely to see some of you on Saturday.

Saturday 24 October · 10am–4pm
Horse & Bamboo, Waterfoot · Free entry
FREEQUENCY3 live: 2pm & 3.30pm

What magic can happen when people come together and have time to just be!

We came to do something purposeful and we made some lovely skin nourishing and healing balms but my favourite part of the evening by far was the sitting together, eating cake and chatting about all kinds of things- what a fantastic group of ladies!

I’m always grateful that people come out to support my little business and feel very blessed when familiar faces return for more.

I think I’ll be bringing more eating to my workshops in the future ✨🥰

WHY DOES THE SAME SPOT KEEP GETTING TIGHT? 👀

You massage it…
You stretch it…
It feels better for a while…
Then a few days later, **it’s back again!** 😩

Sound familiar?

Sometimes the area that feels tight isn’t necessarily where the problem starts.

Your training load, movement patterns, strength, mobility, recovery and even stress can all influence how your body responds.

That’s why continually treating the same area may only provide temporary relief.

**The aim isn’t just to make it feel better — it’s to understand why it keeps happening.** 💙

If you’re constantly dealing with the same tight or uncomfortable area, it might be time to get it assessed.

DO YOU NEED A RECOVERY DAY? 💤💙

When you’re training regularly, it can be easy to think that more is always better.

But recovery is where your body gets the chance to **repair, adapt and prepare for your next session.**

If you’re feeling unusually tired, constantly sore, noticing a drop in performance or dealing with niggles that keep coming back, it might be time to take a step back and give your body some recovery time.

Remember — **rest isn’t a step backwards. It’s part of the process.** 💪

Listen to your body, adjust your training when needed and don’t underestimate the importance of recovery.
