"How do you know if someone's done an Ironman?"
🏊🚴🏃
"They'll tell you"
.
It's World Championship week back on the big island, and back to the old format of the women and men racing on the same day.
.
It was cool to see Jan complete OCC this year in an impressive time, but who else has crossed over between the two finals, and holds the fastest times?
.
Apologies if I've missed someone, let me know in the comments.
.

Kona + OCC 🏊🚴🏃⛰️

Jan Frodeno: 7:51:13 + 6:31:55 = 14:23:08

Heather Jackson: 9:11:32 + 6:09:08 = 15:20:40

Two world-class athletes, two very different tests. Which one do you think is tougher?

Kona + CCC 🏊🚴🏃⛰️

Heather Jackson: 9:11:32 + 12:50:55 CCC = 22:02:27

Heather also has the fastest women's combined time with Western States (17:16:43), is the only person in the top 10 at Kona, CCC and Western states and to have competed professionally between the two sports! 🤯
.
Graham Cooper just nudges ahead on the Western states mens double with 9:35:39 + 16:34:41.

Kona + UTMB 🏊🚴🏃⛰️

Tom Joly: 9:20:21 + 22:25:20 (inc Pyramides) = 31:45:41
.
Apologies to Lucy Bartholemew...

10:43:41 + 25:55:31 (inc Pyramides) = 36:39:12
.
Will we see more crossover from Ironman into trail running going forward?

@randomforestrunner has gone 8:58:49!in Kona! 😬

Next week I’ll be lining up at the Moab 240, the final race of the Triple Crown of 200s.

And I’m not just going there to finish.

I’m going after the Triple Crown course record 🏆

240 miles through the desert.
One of the hardest races in the world.
And one massive goal.

But this race is about more than a course record.

By the time I cross the finish line, I’m hoping to raise $35,000 for CHRISTUS Children’s Cancer Center.

This cause is incredibly personal to me. I’ve seen firsthand how devastating cancer can be, and how much the doctors, nurses, researchers, and families at CHRISTUS Children’s Cancer Center fight every single day.

So I’m asking you to help me turn 240 miles into something bigger.

If you’re willing, donate.
If you can’t donate, share this post.
And if you want to follow along, buckle up.

Because the goal is simple:

Run 240 miles.
Chase the course record.
Raise $35,000.
Make every mile count.

Let’s see how much good we can make out of 240 miles❤️

Hey @shitinthewoods tell Monte I said congrats that he's learning to walk. I am also learning to walk, so that way the race between you and I at @bear100run appears close.

Thanks to my SLC crew who made this video possible.

Happy Slow September or whatever you call it.

september slow-down:

some early monte steps
chamo camo 🤝 uintaflage
park weather
etc :)

oh, and coincidentally, “september slow-down” is also a term which will be used to refer to brett hornig’s race at @bear100run this coming weekend

maybe i’ve been hanging around @ovrlnd.studio too much, or maybe i’m finally just realizing how fun videos can be… they’re like photos that move! really been enjoying making lots of home video memories lately with our monte boy <3
