With our competition hosting season coming to an end for 2026, we want to give the biggest thank you to all of the people that make our meets possible. We know that it is truly a group effort from the entire @ontariopowerliftingassociation , and we are happy to be a place that can bring spectators, sponsors, referees, and most importantly lifters, together.

After hosting 4 meets this year, with one of them being our first Open and Masters Provincials, we are excited to continue being a place for lifters to achieve their goals on the platform. 2026 was great, but we are gearing up for more in 2027. Big announcements will be coming your way, so keep your eyes out for those!

Once again, thank you to everyone who has ever been a part of our meets.

THAT’S A WRAP ON 2026 OPA OPEN & MASTERS PROVINCIALS. 🏆

What a weekend.

First and foremost, a massive thank you to every athlete, coach, referee, spotter/loader, volunteer, sponsor and everyone who stepped through the doors and helped make this championship what it was.

We want to give a special shoutout to our head table and spotters/loaders. Day 1 & 2 came with some unexpected challenges as we worked through issues with ArenaPL, but everyone adapted quickly and kept the meet moving. These guys did an incredible job keeping things on track, and despite the early challenges, we finished up only ~15 minutes behind schedule before getting things back on track for Session 2. With how much we rely on technology to run meets today, it’s easy to forget how much knowledge and experience actually goes into running one without it. Our volunteers stepped up, adapted, and kept everything moving when we needed them most. So huge kudos to the crew.

Also a huge thank you to Zak, Adam and Pete from ArenaPL for working through the issues in real time and doing everything they could to get things resolved. We genuinely appreciate the effort that went into prioritizing our championship and making it work. As with any new system comes a learning curve and, sometimes, challenges that you simply can't anticipate until you're live. We believe in what ArenaPL is building and the direction they're taking the sport, and we know the work being done is ultimately about improving the experience and supporting the continued growth of powerlifting.

All in all, this weekend was a success.

Thank you to everyone who gave us grace during the rocky moments, jumped in when needed, adapted on the fly, and continued to bring the energy that makes Ontario Powerlifting so special.

We couldn't have done this without you all, so thank you. ❤️

We'll be spending the rest of this week finalizing the results, catching up on sleep, and spending some much needed time with our loved ones.

Thank you, Ontario. We'll see you at the next one.
