Congratulations to Abbey Jackson for successfully crossing the Catalina Channel in the unofficial time of 12:02:55 (pending ratification). With this swim, Abbey became the first Native Alaskan to cross the Catalina Channel and complete the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming. Abbey is Native American and a member of the Tlingit (Łingít) tribe. She swims in support of the Spondylitis Foundation, bringing additional purpose to her open water accomplishments. Abbey swam aboard the Pacific Moon, supported by her husband, Eric Ferree, and her coach, Liz Fry. Father and son team Steve and Ryland Sutton provided kayak support, while Marc Horwitz and Tom Roche served as CCSF Official Observers. Congratulations, Abbey, on a Catalina Channel crossing, a Triple Crown, and a remarkable first for Native Alaskan swimming! #CatalinaChannel #CCSF #TripleCrown #OpenWaterSwimming #MarathonSwimming

Some scenes from the SBCSA banquet weekend! Swimmers, boat captains, support crew, friends and family celebrated the 2025 swimmers and heard from guest speaker Claire Fackler of NOAA. The weekend ended with a dip at Seaward on Sunday morning. Can’t wait until next year’s celebration. 🎉 Thank you to @venturayachtclub and @deanprop for hosting us for the second year in a row.

This was a team effort. WE made it!! Without the Out of Comfort Zone Team, I couldn’t have done it! - @kralsaran , my trainer, followed me on-site the entire time and kept me motivated. - @deliveliemre & @ayseyaseminbagana supported me as my swim buddies, both in and out of the water. Emre shared those magical last minutes of the swim with me, crossing the finish line together. - @kamryndawsoncharters crew of captains ensured we stayed on the right route. - Kayakers West @fabulous_merman and @ryzlnd_ stayed next to me all the time and motivated me@in hard times and did the feeding - @ryzlnd_ Channel Association observers @virgelviersetjoel made sure everything was by the rules. - And my main sponsor, Adalvo, supported me throughout this journey. It’s been a pleasure to be their brand ambassador, and their collaboration made this initiative possible. Thank you, everyone, for your incredible support! This victory is ours! 🌊🏅💙 @outofcomfortzone_dk
