Your surroundings can completely change the way getting tattooed feels. When we created EXEX, we wanted the space itself to be part of the experience. Natural light, plants, pieces from our travels, and the Montana woods surrounding us helps create an environment that feels comfortable, welcoming, and uniquely ours. Because when you’re spending hours with us creating a tattoo that will be with you forever, we want the experience to be relaxing and to exceed your expectations! This tattoo turned into something neither of us could have come up with on our own! Erica trusted the EXEX Tattoo Process and we were able to create something that she absolutely loved. We make sure to take the time to get to know our clients with our Questionnaire process before we even start drawing so that we can make sure to create a tattoo that they will appreciate for life. Thank you Erica for trusting us with your tattoo idea! The work you do before the moment often matters more than the moment itself. I used to think photoshoots were the hard part. But looking back, I realized I was getting in my own way before I ever stepped in front of the camera. The better I took care of myself beforehand, the more confident and present I felt when it actually mattered. _______________________________________________________ #EXEX #EXEXGlobal #EXEXTattoo #montanatattoo

I love how this tattoo flows naturally with her arm! One of my favorite parts of designing a tattoo is making sure it complements the natural shape of the body and flows well. When a piece is designed for the body before you even start your drawing, everything feels more balanced, cohesive, and intentional. I had so much fun creating this tattoo for Lacey, and I love how beautifully it came together. Lacey, thank you for trusting me with such a meaningful piece! The best tattoos start long before the first line is ever tattooed. When Lacey came in for her consultation, we spent time talking through her vision before I ever started designing. Taking the time to listen helped us create a plan that she felt confident in from the very beginning. I love this part of the process because every meaningful tattoo starts with understanding the person behind it. Lacey, thank you for trusting me to tell your story. The contrast between the flowers and the skeleton is something I absolutely love. There's something about pairing soft florals with a skeleton that just works. I love how both elements work together to create this piece that flows with her arm. This tattoo was so much fun to create, and I couldn't be happier with how everything came together. Lacey, thank you for trusting me with such a meaningful piece! Some tattoos aren’t about forgetting the past—they’re about embracing what’s next. Lacey wanted to honor an important chapter of her life while celebrating the one she’s stepping into now. Using her wedding photo as inspiration, we created a piece that honors where she’s been while celebrating what’s next. Lacey, thank you for trusting me with such a meaningful tattoo. Your first attempt isn’t supposed to be your best one. For a long time, I hated doing retakes. If I stumbled over my words or my tone wasn’t quite right, I’d get frustrated because I thought I should be able to get it perfect the first time. But every retake taught me something the previous one couldn’t. Growth doesn’t come from getting everything right. It comes from being willing to try again! _______________________________________________________ #EXEX #EXEXGlobal #EXEXTattoo #Montanatattoo

I love how a single flower can say so much… Sayre's tattoo is a single blooming daffodil with a few leaves and a budding flower. At first glance, it feels like a simple design—but that simplicity is intentional. We took the time to make sure every detail fit her perfectly and honored the story she wanted to carry with her. Sometimes a single flower, thoughtfully designed and carefully placed, says everything it needs to. I love how this daffodil came together, and I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to create it for Sayre. Sayre, thank you for trusting me with your first tattoo! This tattoo was designed for this exact spot… Every tattoo should feel like it belongs on the body it's created for. That's why we use our EXEX mapping process to figure out the placement, flow, and how each design complements the natural shape of the body. I love how this daffodil follows the lines of Sayre's forearm, creating a piece that feels balanced, elegant, and completely at home. This tattoo started with something far more valuable than a reference photo. For her first tattoo, Sayre found inspiration in her grandmother's flatware set, featuring daffodils that had been passed down through generations. It was an honor to help transform a meaningful family heirloom into something she can carry with her every day. Sayre, thank you for trusting me with your story.
