🚨SLEEP IS A CHEAT CODE ‼️
Sometimes it’s hard to take my own advice.
.
Training these last couple of months have been a total drag. I felt low energy and my performance was very unreliable.
.
I knew what the problem was and it was that my sleep was off
.
Most people can get away with 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night. Personally, I need about nine hours of sleep every night to feel my best.
.
So when I was averaging 6 to 7 hours, I felt like total Doodoo.
.
I didn’t blame it on low testosterone or any other bogeyman that you’ll hear these days. The solution was simple. I just needed to go to bed earlier. Whether I wanted to lay down at 8 o’clock or not, I needed to be in bed so I could get the appropriate amount of sleep.
.
I’ve also reduced my caffeine intake quite a bit and made 8 AM my cut off for caffeine intake. This way I would have 12 hours before bedtime to allow the caffeine to get out of my system.
.
It’s been three consistent nights of high-quality sleep averaging 9+ hours every night and I’m feeling really really good.
.
So before you buy the next supplement or worry that you need all kinds of medical interventions, do an honest audit of your sleep and see if making some improvements will fix the problem

Lake Louise & Moraine Lake in Banff National Park. Even though it was raining it was still beautiful. The rain gave it a dramatic effect.

3 days of running in the mountains with @transrockiesrunning Golden Ultra! It was tough, but worth it. Beautiful trails, epic views, and amazing people every step of the way.

It was so nice to share this experience with some other friends from San Antonio, Texas. Sarah and I trained in the Texas heat going up and down the powerlines every weekend. I’m so proud of us!

A very special thanks to Sal for driving us around, crewing, and feeding us all weekend. ❤️

We had a very productive meeting today. We discussed personal and professional wins, as well as lessons we’ve learned in August.

One of the big moments from today’s meeting was “if you’re not excited by some else’s progress. Truly excited and happy to see them succeed and accomplish something they have been working towards, then you don’t belong here.”

We all nodded in agreement because watching our Watchdogs grow, succeed, and progress is what drives us.

We’re looking forward to launching our new training block soon
