SALOON International Meeting at ECC with an introduction by ECC curator Lucia Pedrana and SALOON Munich member Tamiko Thiel presenting the installation “Wilderness” by UMA - United Media Artists. The ECC - European Cultural Centre presents the exhibition “Personal Structures - Confluences” at their site at Palazzo Mora. The exhibition celebrates the intersections of people, stories, and disciplines, a space where diverse perspectives merge to forge new currents in contemporary art. SALOON Munich member Tamiko Thiel and SALOON Paris member Jeanne Susplugas are member of United Media Artists (UMA). Their multi channel video installation “Wilderness” evokes a place that obeys its own laws, an uncultivated mythic world, a place to explore or to hide; an example of the wonders of life – the dichotomy of beauty and danger. On view at ECC, Palazzo Mora, until November 29, 2026.

SALOON International Meeting at the exhibition “Liquid Archives” in Venice with many members from different SALOON cities participating! About Liquid Archives: The exhibition, curated by Maddalena Pelù @maddalena_pelu, explores water not only as a natural element, but also as sensitive memory, the female body, ecological force, fluid mythology, and political matter. Artists: Angela Anzi, Katya Ev Anton, Anna Grebner, Marie-Luce Nadal, Clara Rivault, Kiki Smith, Flaminia Veronesi SALOON member Angela Anzi @angela_anzi uses the mytholgical marine figure of the siren to investigate processes of silencing and domestication of the feminine in the collective memory of Western culture. SALOON member Anna Grebner @annaagrebner uses the mussel as symbol for the progressive acidification of the oceans. Katya Ev Anton @katya.ev_anton works with human milk as artistic matter addressing the idealization and invisibilisation of breast feeding. SALOON‘s special event organized by former Denniston Hill resident Nadja Marcin at the exhibition CHIMERA at Pavillon of Denniston Hill at the Venice Biennial at the main exhibition “In Minor Keys” at the Giardini. The exhibition brings together 154 former residents of Denniston Hill in the southern Catskill Mountains, within the ancestral territory of the Esopus people of Lenapehoking - a residency program created by Lawrence Chua, Julie Mehretu, Paul Pfeiffer. @lawrencechuaa @pmp2021 Former resident and SALOON Berlin member Nadja Marcin introduces her work as well as the artists Alex Beriault, Pelenakeke Brown, and Jennifer Montgomery. About Nadja Marcin’s @nadjaverenamarcin work: “The Cube” (video sculpture, 2026) is a life-sized cyborg-like skull, modeled from the artist’s own CT data and fitted with a real-hair wig, contains monitors displaying fragments from Marcin’s earlier performance “The Cube” (2017). Situated on the roof of Denniston Hill’s former farmhouse, the performance reflects on resistance, vulnerability, and socially inherited gender roles, culminating in a leap into a firefighter’s rescue net held by participants below. International SALOON Meeting at the Bulgarian Pavillon at Venice Biennial with many members from different cities of the saloon-network.org Bulgarian Pavilion The Federation of Minor Practices Artists: Gery Georgieva, Maria Nalbantova, Rayna Teneva, Veneta Androva 
Curator: Martina Yordanova The Bulgarian Pavilion is conceived as the headquarters of a fictional research lab operating within a post sovereign, care oriented political imagination known as The Federation of Minor Practices. SALOON Member Veneta Androva’s „Spray and Pray“ examines infrastructures of disinformation through the ecology of mushroom websites and algorithmic systems. Rayna Teneva’s „Geography Is Destiny“ traces the entanglement of labour, care, and violence. Maria Nalbantova’s work at the Dragoman Marsh unfolds as a long term practice of ecological care. Gery Georgieva’s film mobilises digital myth and prophecy to question regimes of identity, pleasure, and mediated truth. Bulgarian Pavillon entrance in front of Vaporetto Station Zattere.

The climate crisis affects the entire world, but who are the key players who can take action to address it? And how? How can art and curatorial practice address and communicate today’s ecological urgency?  The climate crisis raises both ecological and cultural questions. What role do utopias, dystopias, moralistic or speculative narratives play? What can art really achieve in the face of global crises?  And what structural or cultural policy changes are needed to enable this? NICE TO MEET YOU #18 on “Art & Ecology” invited artists and curators from the SALOON Network to talk about artistic, aesthetic or curatorial strategies, their engagement, or networks to take action against the climate crisis. Today we introduce: Tuçe Erel, Curator @tuceerel SALOON Berlin Title of her talk: Curating in the Capitalocene Tuçe Erel is a Berlin-based curator, art writer, musician/sound artist, podcaster, and cultural worker. Her curatorial interests include archiving practices, ecology, the Anthropocene, posthumanism, and post-digital theories. Erel uses her sociology education in her curatorial research, and in her research methodology, she prefers to twist and challenge conventional social science methodologies. In recent years, she has explored hacking as a way to unbox bio-politics, the Anthropocene, ecological crisis, cultures, nonhuman agency, artistic speculation, and imagination. She is currently researching extractivism and deforestation as curatorial and artistic research themes. She studied sociology at METU (2005) and art theory and criticism (MA program) at Anatolian University (2009). She did her second MA in Art Arts Policy and Management (with curating pathway) at Birkbeck College (2015).  1. Portrait: Anil Eraslan 2.
