Some experiences do more than fill your heart; they remind you exactly why your purpose matters!

My visit to The Stimulation Plus Early Childhood Development Centre (Stim-Plus) was truly spectacular and deeply rewarding. I had the privilege of sharing oral health education with the students, engaging with them, and distributing oral health care packages to support their smiles and well-being.

But beyond the education and the care packages, I left with something even more meaningful; a renewed appreciation for the importance of creating spaces where every child feels seen, valued, included and empowered.

To the incredible students and dedicated staff at Stim-Plus, thank you for welcoming me and allowing me to share in such a special experience.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Gunter Gayle, Director of the Early Stimulation Programme (ESP), for welcoming me and making this experience possible. Dr. Gayle, please continue the incredible work you are doing to nurture, support and empower these children. Your efforts matter, your impact is meaningful, and the lives you touch are a testament to the importance of our mission. May you continue to be strengthened and inspired to do this remarkable work!

A huge thank you to the sponsors: @kirkfpltd @carimedja

🎀 AWARENESS. EARLY DETECTION. HOPE. 💗

Every conversation about breast cancer awareness is an opportunity to educate, empower, and potentially save a life!

As part of our Miss Jamaica World 2026 Breast Cancer Awareness initiative, Samantha and Miss Sinclair shared an important message about prioritising breast health, the power of early detection, and the importance of regular screening.
Their message is a reminder that early detection can make all the difference. A mammogram can identify changes in breast tissue before symptoms appear, allowing for earlier intervention and better treatment outcomes.

Let’s continue to encourage the women in our lives to prioritise their health, overcome their fears, and take that important step towards screening.

Because caring for ourselves and each other is a beautiful act of love!

At Special JA, we believe that access to quality oral healthcare should never be out of reach for persons with disabilities and special needs.

Through oral health education, community outreach, and meaningful engagement, we are working to create a Jamaica where inclusion is not just spoken about, but put into action!

You’ve seen the mission. Now meet the woman behind it!

Meet Dr. Samantha McLeod, Dental Surgeon, Advocate and Founder of Special JA.

Through dentistry, advocacy, outreach and community involvement, Dr. McLeod is passionate about creating greater awareness, accessibility and opportunities for people with special needs while reminding us that a person’s disability should never determine their worth.

Special JA is much bigger than one person.

It’s about US!
It’s about reaching one, empowering another, and creating a Jamaica where no child or adult feels that quality oral healthcare is beyond their reach.

Feel free to join the movement and mission!🇯🇲🦷

Fitness Fast Track ✅

The work behind the sash includes a lil sweat! The @missjamaicaworld Fitness Fast Track challenged us to push our limits and give it our best shot.

With the demanding schedule that comes with representing Jamaica, building stamina and resilience is part of preparing for the crown. So it’s a fun challenge with a bigger purpose 🙂‍↕️

Congratulations to the winners!!! 💙💙💙

🗣️ SEEN. HEARD. VALUED. 🦷🇯🇲

Everyone has a story. Everyone deserves to be heard. Everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, respected, and included.

On today's episode, we had an interview with Nathaniel Bailey @kripx_don to hear his experiences, his perspective, and the realities of navigating life as a person with a disability in Jamaica.

This conversation reminded me why Special JA exists; not just to talk about people with special needs, but to listen TO them, learn FROM them, and create space FOR them!

Because inclusion begins when we stop speaking for people and start listening to their voices.

Every voice matters! Every person belongs!
