September recap!

Wrapping up the sabbatical from church work on the second week of September and then FULL steam ahead with Americanafest and SWERFA! I think we’re finally through that lingering summer heat and I couldn’t be happier, but I did really enjoy all of the time to work on new hobbies and read a lot of books. It did me good.

What made your September special?

I never shared the full versions of my music videos from the “A Candle On A Busy Street” project on socials—so, Mona Lisa!💌

Whenever I write a song, visuals are the first thing that comes to mind…not production, or socials, but how does the song look in my brain space and feel in my body.

When I started to visualize “Mona Lisa” I knew I wanted to feature other famous works of art and create a world where the characters came to life out of their golden cells and untouchable identities.

Soooo — we’ve got the Mona Lisa (big wow), the Girl with the Pearl Earring (played by emma!), the Desperate Man (easton — my cowriter and frame-punching actor), and a modern-day American Gothic by my favorite’s joy and tim!

I worked with the ever amazing @pennykapa on this video — she shot and we co-directed, planning out scene-by-scene and filming in her basement. It was the best time and I adore her.

As an indie artist, I have learned the magic of turnip green, spray painting frames, and how to ball on a budget.

If you’re looking for someone to help creative direct your next music vid or brainstorm a setup, don’t hesitate to reach out. I love artistry and creating deeply and would love to support you!

I JUST LOVED THIS PROCESS. Hope u feel apart of it🫂

@pennykapa and I collabed on this one and fully directed/designed/ideated together. She is a powerhouse y’all.

We started at 7am. Left at 1pm. Everyone seen here are my true heroes and many of my favorite people. It’s still the craziest thing that we got THE THANGS DONE and simultaneously had SO MUCH FUN.

go stream + watch “holy woman” errrywhere (on YouTube)♥️♥️
