Yoga Teacher Training changed my life in 2014 I was grappling with the concept of living a fulfilling life. One where I wouldn’t feel confined to the expectations that came with living in a capitalistic society. After graduating from college in 2013 for a whole year I’d wake up, go to work, come home exhausted, pay off my loans, drink with friends, go to yoga, and repeat. That’s when yoga became my refuge. As i listened to the whispers of my soul in pyramid pose, I began to believe that there was more out there. If yoga could teach me how to center my entire mind in 60 minutes, what could living a yogic lifestyle do for my psyche?! This nagging feeling that there was so much more magic to life that I hadn’t been taught wouldn’t go away, rather it got louder. So I took the leap and spent an entire months pay on YTT. Since then I’ve learned to trust those whispers and have designed my life to be one of freedom, fulfillment, alignment, and joy. It’s one that I genuinely love living💖 Studying 300 additional hours of yoga in 2020 catapulted me deeper on this path to the point where I can’t not share these teachings now!! I've been invited to lead Yoga Teacher Trainer for @blackswanyogadenver 's Yoga Teacher Training program!! What. I can't believe I'm doing this... It srsly seems like it hasn't hit yet... but it is FOR REALL. Movement is my loveeee, our love, and I can't wait to share what I've gathered in this vessel with the students of the Fall 2022 program (weekends of Sept 17th - Dec 11). I'll be one amongst these incredible lead teacher friends @so.willow @docseher @katerinaoerickson and guest lecturers sharing all the unique and creative ways this practice already does/can/could/and will make an impact on our communities at large. I teach because I'm curious about the universe. I'm fascinated by different cultures/ individuals and how they interpret the same concepts. I'm intrigued by the mult-faceted ways we can share yoga with non-judgement, open-minds, and in the safe container that is YTT. All I want to be is an inspiration. If you've met me, known me or taken one of my flows, I give all of my weirdness, heart and then some to my classes and my students. I like deconstructing the illusionary boxes we put ourselves in, through challenging thought & body. I'm still a working piece of incomplete complete art. I acknowledge my need for human connection. Uniting mind, body, soul... harnessing this crazy intelligent bull for the betterment of others, is not an easy feit and sharing heart, voice, and thoughts is an endless mission of a lifetime, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Can't wait to empower this class, walking in a similar path. Future class- you're going to be greatness - giving people an opportunity to heal and reach new heights of health is a true honor. Normal rock backs can be uncomfortable for patients so try them with a strap to get some extra space in there as they bend! Here we have @artemboyajyan post-op ACLR, getting them in before getting his quads torched 🔥 the rest of the session. This has worked wonders for my post op ACLs & tibial plateau fractures recently but could potentially help w some knee pain while squatting or lunging also! Stretching straps probably feel the best but you could get away with using a leash, a belt or a long towel. There’s a lot of “noise” in the fitness and rehab space: Don’t do this❔ Do it this way instead❔ That’s wrong❔ This is right❔ It can be hard to know what’s actually best for you. The truth of the matter is, what’s actually “right” is usually different for everyone. The best way to make sure you’re actually doing what’s best for you is to make sure you always know the intention behind what you’re doing.
