🍽️ Sentir

📍 37 W 19th St., New York, NY 10011

Sentir is a fully vegan and kosher certified restaurant located in Flatiron that takes you through a flavorful journey through multiple regions of Mexico. They are a part of chef Guy Vaknin’s (@chefguyvaknin) group City Roots Hospitality, which does a great job at redefining plant-based dining. This vegan restaurant showcases the highest quality plant based ingredients and serves some of the best warm comforting classic dishes found in Mexico. The spices and flavors are celebrated in each dish and they do an amazing job of celebrating the difference in every dish and illustrates what makes Mexican cuisine truly unique. #foodiesofinstagram #nycfoodie #vegan #mexicanfood #fyp

Watermelon Margarita 🍉🍹: refreshing, the watermelon flavor actually shines through and can be tasted, good, solid margarita, it was their specialty cocktail that evening, so it’s not always on the menu but was pleasantly surprised with the special 😋

Sentir Guac 🥑: Avocado, jalapeño, cilantro, onion, tomato jam, chicharrones, queso fresco, served with a side of heirloom corn tortilla chips. The guac was amazing! Great flavor and great texture, very fresh ingredients, really enjoyed this! The chips were also a really good side, very crunchy and paired well with the guac. The “chicharrones” served with the guac was interesting, it had the same classic crunch of a non-vegan chicharron, but the taste was very dry and seemed like it was made of lentil, not completely sure. Loved the guac, but the chicharrones were okay.

Yuca Fries: Chipotle aioli and avocado mousse, these were SO GOOD and a favorite, crunchy on the outside and soft and perfectly cooked yuca on the inside. The avocado mousse on the side was my favorite dipping sauce, but the chipotle aioli added a nice spice to the fry. Really loved these fries, would recommend trying!

Chicken Sopes: Crispy corn masa sopes, chicken, melted mozzarella, tomatillo sauce, radishes, pickled onions, salsa macha, never had this dish traditionally, but loved this version! The outer shell is made from corn masa and the chicken/salsa/onion mixture inside is incredibly well seasoned and

take me BACKKK to this fabulous spread from a vegan mexican restaurant in NYC ( @sentirnyc ). what i love most about this place is that you get both good food AND vibes. it’s dimly lit, busy, elegant & just epic overall.

talking about epic, these enchiladas were just that!!! they had melted “cheese” inside and the most stunning flavors. whether you’re vegan or not, def recommend this spot for a fun night!

Last week was the perfect mix of work, family, food, and a little NYC sightseeing! 🗽❤️

I headed to New York for a week of meetings at our corporate office, which meant getting some quality time with colleagues I usually only get to see in person about twice a year. It was productive, fun, and honestly so nice to reconnect in person. And of course, we had to sneak in a Manhattan night! We had an amazing dinner at @pskitchennyc and then headed to the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center. The views were absolutely incredible! 🌃✨

Then came the best part—family time! ❤️ I got to spend the weekend with all my cousins, many of whom I hadn’t seen in way too long. We hung out, went swimming, had dinner overlooking the Hudson at “The Club”, and ate our way through some seriously incredible vegan food. @spicymoonnyc was delicious, but @sentirnyc is officially my new favorite! 🌱🤤

We also spent time at Ellis Island researching our family history and learning more about when our family immigrated to the U.S. And one of those “wow, this makes it all feel real” moments: my grandmother’s name is actually engraved on the American Immigrant Wall of Honor at Ellis Island. 🇺🇸❤️

Overall, it was an amazing trip… but way too short. I already miss everyone. Being so far away from family is hard, and weekends like this make me wish we lived closer. 🥹❤️

And one final observation: the vegan food in NYC is THE BOMB. 🌱🔥

I only wish I had taken better pictures—but apparently NYC restaurants believe good food should be enjoyed in the dark! 😂📸

Until next time, New York… I’ll be back! 🗽

I saw @alebrijeflamenco perform live in Mexico and was completely blown away. The music, the energy, the movement — it was one of those performances you don’t forget.

So when I found out they were coming to New York, I knew we had to bring that experience to our restaurants.

For two special nights, @alebrijeflamenco will be performing live:

August 14 at @sentirnyc at 6PM
August 19 at @anixinyc at 6PM

I’m incredibly excited to welcome them to New York and to share a performance I fell in love with in Mexico with our guests here at home.

Come for dinner. Stay for the show. 💃
