This is such a hopeful and inspiring nonfiction book about how cities around the world are becoming more sustainable and livable. I really loved the focus on solutions and what we CAN do when it comes to climate change. That positive approach makes this especially powerful for students. 🌎

I think this would be a great fit for middle grade and even high school readers. It is packed with fascinating ideas, from wildlife crossings to rooftop gardens to public parks, and shows how urban spaces can work with nature instead of against it. 🌲🏔️☀️

I especially appreciated the Indigenous perspectives included throughout, particularly from Māori communities in New Zealand. There is so much we can learn from Indigenous knowledge when it comes to caring for the environment. 💚

If you are looking for a nonfiction book that is informative, practical, and empowering, this is a fantastic choice for classrooms and libraries.
