Year 10 as Athlete, year 1 as Coach. Such a learning experience that I am forever grateful for.

This picture says it all. The energy, the emotion, the passion. Championship weekend was something special. We came up just short, but moments like these remind me why I love this sport. Went up against 3 of the best teams back to back, all coming down to the very last race.

The best part of this season wasn’t the wins. It was the people. Different backgrounds, personalities and strengths, all coming together for common goal. Learning each other and growing together. If it’s one thing I learned in any team sport, it’s alignment and making sure everyone is all in on the “team first” mentality.

First season coaching, also first season coming in as a reserve athlete with the intention of emergency use only. Being able to step onto the GRID and compete alongside the people I’ve spent the season coaching made this experience even more meaningful. Also first ringer I’ve done since the year they were introduced and loved it.

Our ringer plan actually wasn’t bad, just an execution error (and a random hole in the rulebook 🤷) that hurt us but that’s the name of the game in a growing sport.

I will forever love these entry walkouts! Seeing all the familiar faces ( and of course @mari_ville and our family) along with the judges and other team is always a rush before the match.

My first season as Coach taught me more than I expected. A lot of lessons, tough decisions, and room to grow. We didn’t get the ending we wanted but gained so much more in the process. In our losses, we let down our doors and stayed vulnerable to each other and those moments meant more than any “win” could give.

Championship weekend

Not the ending we wanted but there are moments from that championship weekend that I will never forget. Sports..Sometimes things go your way and sometimes they don’t. How WE have responded to those moments says a lot more than the outcome.

What happened in that locker room after the loss was something I’ll never forget. I’ve been part of a lot of teams but the bond that was created in that moment was something different. We lost a championship but maybe we just gained something much bigger.

I think that’s the balance of it all. You don’t always get to choose how things play out but you do get to choose what comes from them. Scars were made, lessons were learned and this team became a family.

The @fortlauderdalelions are ALIVE. Hungry and already focused on the next given opportunity. BE READY @unitedgridleague 🦁

Proud to be a part of this team. Proud of the people I get to stand beside.

Year 3 done.

Thank you God for the gifts you have given me and the people you put around me. I wouldnt change a thing and truly trust your plan. #kingofkings

10 seasons. 10 years of this journey. And we’re just getting started. 🦁🔥

We didn’t end this season with the championship we came for, but we’re walking away with something just as powerful: a stronger bond, a deeper hunger, and a family that’s ready to fight for more. ❤️‍🔥

Grateful for everything this season taught us, every challenge that pushed us, and every moment that made us stronger. The job isn’t finished, and the story isn’t over. If anything, this is just the beginning.

Now it’s time to get back to work. A new offseason, new goals, and a whole lot left to prove. The hunger is there, the fire is there, and we’re coming back stronger. 😤💪🏼🔥

SEASON 11… WE’RE COMING FOR YOU. 🏆

Combining all available stats, these are the top 10 most impactful players on the grid for 2026. This stat combined impact score, efficiency score, and win percentage on races to yield a total value to their team. That number is below each players name.
Honorable mentions 11-25
25. Taylor Sturgis
24. Dalton Herrero
23. Paula Leyes
22. Marissa Oxenford
21. Rebecca Rouse
20. Marcos Medina
19. Valerie Cintron
18. RJ Hibbard
17. Kyra Milligan
16. Ellia Miller
15. Sedona Townsend
14. Brandon Ferraro
13. Nate Cobb
12. Sam Secord
11. Chelsea Ranieri

Notes:
- Sharks had no players in the top 10 yet repeat as champs. But had 4 players in the top 25 and 10 in the top 50. They won with a true and real team effort. This could be the first year in quite some time the MVP doesnt come from the champs simply bc they won with that kind of group attack.

- Brigade dominate the top 25 yet missed the playoffs entirely. Would the playoffs have been different if this team had made it.

- Breakers dominate the top 5 yet only have 1 other player in the top 25. Was their lack of depth after the top and their reliance on certain players their downfall? In addition, will Evan Newman be the first player to win MVP from a non championship team in several years?

- Flight had 5 of the top 10 impact scores, where are they here? This list includes true performance. While a high impact score would help you rise in the rankings, you simply must have performed in a way that increased your teams chances of winning to be high here.

- All of these stats have their imperfections. And they are just numbers. I always believe there are hidden values players bring to the grid that cant be quantified. Some people would be higher or lower if that was possible for sure. But these are a small guide as to who did things really well this year. Maybe it helps us all appreciate those people.

Is Evan Newman the MVP, despite not winning it all?

As this season’s grid playoff and championship weekend approaches, I decided to take a trip down memory lane and reflect on the last few years I’ve been involved with the sport.

I LOVE the sport of grid. I fell in love with this sport the first time I laid eyes on it for so many reasons. This sport has and always will have my heart.

This sport introduced me to some of the most important people in my life, and I built relationships that will always be important to me.

I grew as a clinician and business owner through this sport, and by the grace of God, I was given the opportunity to own and help run a team this past year. This is a role that I will forever be grateful for and proud to own.

As a team owner, this postseason hits differently. I’m beyond proud of our coaches and players.

We faced adversity this year.
We celebrated big wins.
We traveled across the country together.
We grew as a family.

I am beyond blessed to have a passion that I hold so close that allows me to travel, be surrounded by my tribe, and help grow and expand such an amazing sport. I am fully leaning into this opportunity that God has handed me, trusting in His plan for whatever the future holds.

No matter what happens on the grid this weekend, I am grateful above all else.

It’s almost time to leave it all out there. 🦁🩵🫶🏼🧡♠️
