This one was a bit difficult to talk about knowing this is very personal but I also want to be very transparent and intentional with everything I do. Thank you for letting me be me and to everyone who is watching this. Be kind to yourself. If nobody has told you, you’re loved and doing great, I will. Thank you. T-shirt is available now @pacsun 💜

Late post but if this CAMP pacing experience has taught me anything, it’s that you don’t need to live in the (algo)rhythm of everyone else’s timeline and you can go at your own speed.

Marathon training has been my meditation of leaning into discomfort. Last year, it was properly training for the first time. This year, it was leading for the first time in the community.

Grateful for @koreatownrunclub and everyone who trusted me to get them to the finish line this cycle. It’s helped me build a foundation and base for myself in more ways than one. Sometimes you need a platform to give you permission to believe in yourself.

I’ve carried with me that the things that may feel small in the moment often end up meaning more to others. I learned this from a runner I met for a moment not realizing it was the last moment I’d see him.

Time and opportunities move whether you’re ready or not. It’s not always about catching up to the next person, sometimes it’s just about showing up for them.

Great adventures are hiding in your backyard — you just have to make time to play.

30 of us met right before sunset on the Spring Equinox to kick off spring.

We climbed toward Glendale Peak, stopped to hang, take in the skyline, then hit Hogback — where things got quiet and everyone got to work.
Rosa went off and hit the top first.

We regrouped at Dante’s View, cheering everyone in.

From there we split —
the 5-mile group tagged Mt. Hollywood and dropped down Boy Scout, while the rest kept going out to Taco Peak and Mount Bell, dipped into the Merry-Go-Rounds, then climbed back out to the blacktop and brought it home.

Thanks to everyone who came out.
We’ll be doing at least one entry-level trail run a week, with bigger runs every other week.

Griffith Park will be home base, but we’ll be getting out to other mountain ranges too.

give people their flowers while they can still smell them 💐—

it’s not just about the 26.2 miles. it’s also about the months that came before it.

the early mornings. the late evenings. the sessions when your body just wasn’t having it. the days you showed up tired, but still chose to do the work.

all because you made that promise to yourself.

i want to give you your flowers for something that doesn’t get talked about enough; the work it takes to get to the starting line healthy and ready.

to toe the line with some of the greats takes discipline, patience, and a level of commitment that most people never see. and every one of you has honored that process.

seeing you all fly through Bravo Zone was emotional for me, not because of the race itself, but because i understand what it took to get there. all the setbacks you worked through. all the sacrifices you made. the trust you put in the training and in each other.

you committed to the process and trained with intention. you honored the work it takes to prepare your body and mind for something this demanding.

in a culture that sometimes rewards the shortcut, you chose the long road.

as a coach, i’ve had the privilege of watching you all grow. i’m incredibly proud of each of you. but more than anything, i’m thankful you let me be part of your journey.

congratulations to you all on a tough race. 💐

job finished.. for now.

LA marathon was a depiction of my life.
I want a lot in life, I’m greedy in what I want to pursue, I’m often too ambitious.
I burn quick like a match in the beginning until there’s nothing left to burn.

I wanted a lot in the beginning, I knew my body was not ready but I wanted to stay with the group, pushed it until my muscle had nothing left to burn.

Mile 20 my calves were cramping and then my thighs. The last 6.2 miles was pain.
It was due to lack of endurance and strength. Some heat to blame.

Marathon keeps reminding me of the consequences and that’s why I do it.
It teaches me a lesson with pain because I don’t learn…

But also it tells me that it’s okay to burn sometimes because I’ll get through it and finish no matter what.
Family, friends, and the community is there to support me too.
So I won’t beat myself up too hard for not slowing down, even in life. Just won’t be pretty😂

Much love to my family, friends, and the community❤️
