Uncurated goes to Slovakia 🗄️✂️🇸🇰

Who decides what deserves to be seen? What does the internet look like when remembered through residue instead of feeds? What do we save when no one is watching? 👀

This workshop treats screenshot folders as personal archaeological sites: messy drawers, highly subjective archives of attention formed outside algorithmic curation. 🪜🦷

Through guided selection and digital collage, participants will excavate their own screenshot drawers and through the custom made tool 🕹️ we explore the role screenshots play in our lives and their power to become sources of knowledge rather than clutter.

Budeme sa prehrabávať vlastnými screenshotmi, vyberať, spájať a skladať ich do digitálnych koláží. Pomocou nástroja vytvoreného špeciálne pre Uncurated 🕹️ budeme spolu skúmať, aké miesto majú screenshoty v našich životoch a čo sa stane, keď ich prestaneme vnímať ako digitálny chaos a začneme ich brať ako zdroj poznania.

📅 5. 9. o 14:00
📍 Lighting Beetle*, Bratislava 🇸🇰

In most places, but particularly in the Gulf, having an appropriate studio space is a common struggle for artists, due to real estate costs, bureaucratic constraints, the lack of appropriate facilities, or simply for cost/benefit reasons.

Art studios are not only about having a place to produce. Access to physical resources, a community, storage, and a safe space to think, discuss, and experiment can have a substantial impact on the artists’ thought process, the type of work developed, and the visibility of their production.

GubGub Studios first and foremost goal is to harbor sustained and sustainable art studio practices for our members and residents, webelieve in fostering individual practices, and in the exploration of diverse topics, media, and processes while surrounded by a group of creative peers.

But what is A collective artist studio?
It’s a shared space where artists work independently while exchanging ideas, resources, and inspiration under one roof.

What a week…
@artbasel Qatar reminded us that art is about generosity, discovery, and sharing.
Time, ideas, and attention.
What art should always be. Happy to have cross path with great minds during these few days.
