Student Spotlight is here. SOCIAL's new series tells the stories of students across Northern California, from elementary school through college and beyond. Our first feature is Kevin Bali, a Sacramento State College of Business student focused on MIS, business analytics and AI. These are the 10 finalists for his cover, and the winner will become the official SOCIAL Magazine cover with the full finished design. Swipe through and comment the number of your favorite. Do you know a student with a story worth telling, or are you one yourself? We want to hear it. If your business would like to sponsor this series and stand behind the next generation of Greater Sacramento leaders, send us a DM and let's talk. 3

So thankful for @statehornet for inviting me to this interview earlier this year🥹✨

To think that the beginning of my art journey truly started during my childhood and then was reborn again while working with kids, reminds me that our artistry is a part of us no matter how long we have been away from it. It’s always US. Our artistry began with the love that we see the world. The way we connect, the way we see ourselves. The way we are.

To the 4th grade class at Elder Creek. Thank you for loving me for me when none of those babies had any clue what I was going through. And they saw the light in me that I had no idea that I had✨💕

When I only saw pain, they saw me for love✨🥹🫶🏽

To creating more art and connecting truly in a deeper way with everyone because we only have one life to live and that’s the one we gotta make the most out of during the present quiet and exciting moments that we have.

It’s ours🫶🏽

Are you ready to dive into rap’s underground? 👾

From Lil B to Che, the evermore expanding roster of the 2026 underground rap scene requires a history lesson to trace its roots. A family tree worth of influence has molded the modern sound; rich with color and harsh tones but traditional in its braggadocious swag infused subject matter.
