How do you identify healthy spaces this holiday?

They are:

➡️ Spaces where you’ll feel affirmed
➡️ Spaces that bring you joy, solo
➡️ Spaces filled with people who are NOT connected through #traumatic events in your life
➡️ Spaces that don’t require you to exceed your budget
➡️ Spaces filled with people who are joyful and positive

Meet Shatikwa!

𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹: Communications

𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱: My favorite memories are definitely from my time as an RA at Meridian Hill Hall—shout out to Frank. I loved dorm life, including the hustle and bustle of moving folks in, meeting their families. There was also something special about the promise of August—new goals, dreams and adventures. Oh wait, and let’s not forget the dorm programs and parties…remember those “Love Auctions”? Crazy.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗶 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂? It means always being part of a team. And, that’s not just for our alum but for the HBCU alum circle at large.

Choosing a therapist goes far beyond appearances. While superficial traits may catch your eye, it's the therapeutic alliance—the bond between you and your therapist—that truly fosters healing and growth. Focus on finding someone who understands and supports your journey. 💙
