For a decade, @pipedwards and P.E Nation were effectively the same thing — the initials on the sports bra were hers, and so was the face and body selling it. It was a deliberate strategy, and it worked almost too well, making it hard to work out where the brand stopped and she began. So it makes sense that separating the two has taken time, and therapy, as she shares in this weekend’s cover story. Edwards has now stepped away from P.E Nation and Ksubi, and when she sat down in Perth with Jade Jurewicz after shooting @claremontquarter’s spring-summer campaign on Rottnest Island — two coffees deep and talking fast — she was candid about the untangling, as well as her journey through early perimenopause, and about who she’s turned out to be with no company attached to her name. Rachel Lindsay’s baking creations are plastered all over our online feeds, with hundreds of viral videos shared to four million followers across platforms. Not to mention the recent release of a book with the world’s biggest publisher, Penguin Random House. She’s incredibly successful — but few people know who she is and what she looks like. Until now. Fronting an #STMPerth cover shoot, @cakedbyrach trades her comfortable position behind-the-camera for the spotlight, albeit hesitantly, and reflects on how she accidentally became the cupcake queen of social media. #GraceChow first fell in love with film the way many Aussie kids do — through the Saturday night movie. The rom-coms were a highlight of the week while growing up in the #WA Wheatbelt town of Bruce Rock, with Chow mimicking her favourite lines in the mirror. Now, post-WAAPA, with accolades, theatre performances and roles on popular television series to her name - including appearing in Good Cop/Bad Cop alongside ex-Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester - the writer and actor is becoming a character that other little girls can be inspired by. While home in #Perth this week, she spoke to Jade Jurewicz about the new #ABC six-part series Dog Park - shot in #Melbourne and starring comedian #CeliaPacquola and #LeonFord - and the unlikely but meaningful connections people find there. 📸: Matt Kallish

Tanzyn Crawford @tanzyncrawford is used to being able to walk down the street unrecognised, save for a few times in LA when she was starring in #TinyBeautifulThings, opposite Kathryn Hahn. But the #Perth actor’s profile is about to skyrocket, as her face is beamed into millions of households worldwide on the anticipated #GameOfThrones spin-off, A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms. And in a STM shoot at Guildhall in North #Fremantle, Crawford’s star power was on full display, styled by STM stylist Megan French @thefrenchfawn, in clothing from some of Perth’s talented graduate designers. Crawford tells Clare Rigden that she’s nervous, but mostly excited for the show to start on January 19. The series, from Game Of Thrones creator George R. R. Martin and producer Ira Parker, based on Martin’s popular novellas, tells the story of an unlikely friendship between a knight, Ser Duncan “Dunk” The Tall (Peter Claffey) and his young squire Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell) as they travell across Westeros. Crawford plays Tansell, a tall, witty Dornish puppeteer and Dunk’s love interest. Crawford says she came to acting in a roundabout way; auditioning for WAAPA when she was two years into a science degree, in solidarity with a friend who wanted to try out. “I loved #WAAPA,” she said. “I understand why people come from all over to study there — it was such a good education. It changed the course of my life.” Read the full story in #STMPerth. On a quiet stretch of Plaza Arcade, an empty CBD shopfront has been given new life — not by a big-name retailer but by a group of emerging West Australian designers backing each other. Studio VIII, which opened in October, is a designer-run boutique bringing local talent together under one roof, in an act of collaboration over competition. In a special #STMPerth shoot for New Year’s Eve, at the QT Perth as it plans its December 31 countdown, up-and-coming model Devina Chavda showcases these #WA designers, from frocks to jewellery, shoes and accessories. Read the story of Studio VIII, which is also backed by Activate Perth, and its featured designers, in STM’s first summer edition this weekend. Harley Reid is a good sport — and not just when it comes to footy. The #WestCoastEagles star was affable throughout this special shoot for #STMPerth, even happily donning an 80s-inspired sportswear get-up to celebrate 40 years since Crown Perth opened in 1985. Reid’s easy-going energy lasted through outfit changes, having his new mullet zhooshed (and no, it’s not permed, for those asking) and a fully-clothed dip in the pool, through to posing for selfies with strangers and answering every request with a “Yeah, easy”. The midfielder, who is Crown’s principal entertainment and venue partner, also chatted to Jade Jurewicz about moving interstate on his own as a teen, the challenges of being a public figure, and remaining focussed on being at his best on and off the field. Jetty Bar & Eats was one of Jade Jurewicz’s first reviews more than four years ago, and received one of her highest scores to date. It had just opened on the Swan River in East #Fremantle: the day was gloriously sunny, the wind was non-existent, the service was among the best she’d had in #Perth, and the food was close to flawless. So yes, her recent visit had a lot to live up to — no pressure. Read the full #foodreview in this weekend’s #STMPerth to see if, four years on, the magic’s still there. 📸: Matthew Gedling / Ross Wyness #STM21
