We horen jullie denken.. Daar ligt ze weer hoor, altijd "het haasje". Of in dit geval "het paddestoeltje".
En ja ik betwijfel mijn levenskeuzes echt wel eens als ik weer als "model" fungeer. 😅

Maar we delen graag met jullie onze oprechte ervaringen en gevoelens.
Zo ook dit gevoel toen ik, Angelique, uit de kist van @loopbiotech getild werd. Ging dat vlot en charmant? Nee absoluut niet. Maar nadat we eerder ookal eens in een houten kist lagen vonden we dit echt een verschil. Sommige zullen roepen, wat maakt het nou uit?
Maar wij kunnen ons best voorstellen dat de keuze in het soort kist voor velen wel belangrijk is. En ook het gevoel wat het je geeft. Of dat nou een houten kist, rieten mand een wade of paddenstoelen kist is. En eerlijk is eerlijk, mij raakte het best wel even. Confronterend ook. Want ook wij denken na over dit soort keuzes.
We zijn dus erg benieuwd naar jullie gevoelens en wensen.

This time, I was lifted out of a @loopbiotech coffin. Smooth and graceful? Absolutely not! 😅
But after lying in a traditional wooden coffin before to try, we really noticed the difference. It felt much more like being held in a cocoon.

Did you know this is an innovative concept from the Netherlands? LOOP’s coffins are made from mycelium, the root-like network of mushrooms, combined with upcycled hemp fibres. A natural, sustainable alternative to traditional wooden coffins.

Şirketin en dikkat çekici ürünü ise Loop Living Cocoon.

Amaç yalnızca biyolojik olarak parçalanan bir tabut üretmek değil.

@loopbiotech ’e göre insan bedeni toprağa dönerken kullanılan ürünün de doğanın döngüsüne katkıda bulunması mümkün.

Ürünler Delft’te yerel mantar türleri ve geri dönüştürülmüş kenevir lifleri kullanılarak yetiştiriliyor ve şirket üretimin yaklaşık 7 gün sürdüğünü belirtiyor.

İlk duyduğumda bana oldukça sıra dışı geldi.

Müslümanlar kefenlenerek doğrudan toprağa gömülüyor.Yani bizde de ölümden sonra toprağa ve doğaya dönüş fikri yüzyıllardır var.

The past few weeks have been pretty surreal.

Seeing Bob (founder & CEO) standing here with The Sydney Morning Herald, where Loop Biotech was featured across a full page, is one of those moments that makes you realize just how far our story is travelling.

And it hasn’t stopped in Australia.

In just a short period of time, stories about Loop have generated more than 20 million views in media reach worldwide.🌍

But what makes us most proud isn’t simply seeing our name in the news or the numbers behind it.
It’s what happens afterwards.

Messages from people discovering Loop for the first time. Questions from families and funeral professionals. People from completely different corners of the world wanting to know more, sharing our story and telling us they believe in our mission.

What started as an idea in Delft is becoming a conversation far beyond it.

20 million views is an incredible milestone. But 20 million opportunities to rethink the way we say goodbye feels even more powerful.

Three weeks ago, the first farewell with the Loop Living Cocoon™ took place in Australia. 🇦🇺

A moment we’ll never forget.

Carolyn’s motto was “Always stand for service.” She lived by it through the care she gave to her community. Her farewell was just as personal: surrounded by family, friends and nature.

There was something beautiful in knowing that, through the Living Cocoon, Carolyn would continue to give back to the earth. A final choice that reflected the way she lived.

For us, it was a reminder of why we started Loop: to make saying goodbye feel more personal, more connected to nature, and able to give something back.

From Delft to Australia. Let’s enrich nature together. 🌱

Met zijn achtergrond in de architectuur bouwde hij een huis van mycelium, het ondergrondse netwerk van paddenstoelen.

Tijdens de Dutch Design Week van 2019 vroeg iemand: ‘Wat als mijn oma hierin overlijdt?’

Zo ontstond het idee voor de Loop Living Cocoon: een uitvaartkist die in zeven dagen zelf groeit.

Bob Hendrikx won in 2021 de Keep an Eye Young Designer Award en daarmee een geldprijs van € 9.000,- voor zijn bijzondere ontwerp: kisten, gemaakt van mycelium.

A great find by our colleagues @MaterialDistrict: check out this wonderful project

A coffin grown rather than manufactured has been used for the first time in Australia.

The Loop Living Cocoon by Dutch company Loop Biotech is grown in just seven days from mycelium, combined with upcycled hemp fibres. Under suitable soil conditions, it breaks down in around 45 days, returning its organic materials to the earth.

The first Australian burial using the Living Cocoon took place in the Blue Mountains for Carolyn, a woman in her seventies whose family felt the material’s connection to nature reflected the way she lived.

Originally developed by Bob Hendrikx as a graduation project at Delft University of Technology, the Living Cocoon has since moved far beyond the experimental stage. Loop Biotech’s regenerative funeral products are now available in more than 12 countries and have been used in over 10,000 funerals and memorial ceremonies worldwide.

A striking example of how designers can rethink not only how products are made, but what happens to them after their purpose is fulfilled.

Last week, together with our exclusive partner for Australia and New Zealand, Arrow Bronze, we had the opportunity to introduce Loop Biotech at the Australasian Cemeteries and Crematoria Association event.

For the first time, funeral professionals from across Australia could see, touch and experience our products up close.

And that’s where some of the best conversations happen.

The response has been incredible, and it was special to see so much curiosity for a completely new way of saying goodbye.

We took our Loop Living Cocoon™️ to the streets of Sydney to see what people would think.

“Wow, it’s so soft.”
“You grow this?”
“In just 7 days?!”
“This is beautiful.”

These are the reactions you hope for when introducing something completely new on the other side of the world.

People stopped. They touched it. Asked questions. And discovered that a coffin doesn’t have to be made the way it always has been.
