@thommoncrieffcreative & @studiopylon have teamed up to bring you the first ever trinket trade box in Dennistoun.

When I was looking for somewhere to place this project I knew that I wanted to collaborate with a business that spreads joy, creativity and happiness just like trinket boxes do and the joy experts at Studio Pylon were a perfect fit.

What is a trinket trade box?
A trinket trade box is a small, weatherproof, community-installed container where people can exchange tiny toys, keychains, badges, and other pocket-sized knick-knacks.

What are the rules of trinket trading?
The rules are very simple:
* Take a Trinket & leave a trinket in return.
* Trade fairly, be responsible and kind.
* Lock the box after trading.

How long will this project last?
This project will last for as long as the community enjoys it and needs it. If you see the box empty or damaged please let Studio Pylon know or email thommoncrieff@gmail.com

"Contemporary graffiti is a distinctly, if not exclusively, urban phenomenon; flowering over the past few decades from the social and cultural complexities of city life, it cannot be understood outside its urban context. Here we offer an interpretation of graffiti as a fluid urban practice, based in large part on our many years of writing graffiti in cities around the USA and beyond. In particular, we attempt to develop a situated spatial analysis of graffiti—to map graffiti’s engagement with the urban environment through an analysis of the spots that writers choose for painting graffiti. This grounded theory of graffiti spots supplements existing understandings of graffiti as a subcultural endeavor and urban phenomenon, and emphasizes the liquidity of urban space and its meaning. It also directly counters the simplistic assumptions about graffiti and the city embedded in the ‘broken windows’ model of crime and crime control."

The latest mural added to the @dennistounmuralproject

She was assisted by @ross.mckenzie_

This new mural is an homage to the history of Victoria Motor & Cycle Co., a former bicycle and motorcycle manufacturer based in Dennistoun in the early 20th century. Local people could watch the bicycles being made in the factory, which is why I decided to depict the bike disassembled - a little nod to the process of making.

The mural project has added 2 new murals, to a larger mural scene in Dennistoun. The plan is to add more to create a mural trail.

Went on a trail of my own, including some older murals I’m aware of in the area.

It’s a million degrees outside… wear the crop top that shows your pale wobbly belly.

Wear the shorts that show off your plethora of bruises cause you’re clumsy AF and your dog uses you for parkour.

Wear the spaghetti straps that shows all the spots and scars on your shoulders.

Wear the sandals that show off your feet, it doesn’t matter how much you hate them.

I dressed like this all day on a busy Saturday with lots of customers and no one shrieked, no one gave me any looks, I’m not sure anyone even noticed TBH.
