What an incredible day it was at the UFURNISH Awards! 🤎

A huge congratulations to all the winners and finalists. So much incredible talent and creativity celebrated in one room.

It was an absolute honour to attend and be surrounded by so many inspiring people from the interiors industry. Such a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new ones and celebrate the amazing talent within our industry.

A massive thank you to @deirdremcgettrick and the @ufurnishcom team for putting together such a fantastic event. A day to remember! ✨🥂

The Sound Of Us!

One of the great joys of my Visiting Professor role at Imperial College London is helping empower brilliant young people to find their own creative voice, and so it has been with the 4 superstars who created the ‘Sound Of Us’ sculpture unveiled recently by Peter Haynes the Imperial Provost.

Selected from a super competitive field by our eminent panel of judges during the ‘White City Sculpture Challenge’ organised by DreamTeam Design in June 2022, the work is an elegantly poetic response to the brief they had set for an idea which would permanently connect the new campus with the local community.

As might only happen at Imperial, the students borrowed a microphone from the Dyson School of Design Engineering to go out and record a diverse assortment of locals saying “White” and “City”. They then synthesised the recorded sound waves into an average curve and used that to define the shape of two benches which would offer a welcome to visitors and a place for conversation – BRILLIANT!

It’s taken a while…but in testimony to other notable Imperial attributes of patience and determination, the team stuck at it, won £150k of precious support from The Presidents Community Fund, gained expert construction guidance from Bespoke Concrete Products and delivered a beautifully crafted, durable, comfortable and unique art form that now takes pride of place at the entrance to Scale Space – the home of Imperial entrepreneurship!

I am therefore allowing myself a brief moment of pride and broadcasting a big BRAVO to all concerned...Lavinia Ruf, Stephanie Yeung, Michela Puglia, Maryam Tanvir and…The Sound Of Us!

TerraBraid is officially out in the world!

I am so excited to share my very first creations at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair (GNCCF) in Manchester
#TerraBraid - giving a second life to discarded materials, transforming waste into unique crafted pieces.

You can find them at the wonderful Green Grads shop inside Victoria Baths.

Next week I am going to be exhibiting ’Bubblegum Whimsyland’ at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair @great_northern_events with @greengradsuk in the North, Victoria Baths, Manchester, October 15-18! 🩷

Set up in 2021, GREEN GRADS is platform supporting new UK graduates “with ideas to heal the planet.” Its founder Barbara Chandler was awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours June 2026 “We do shows, run a website and YouTube channel, host smaller events and happening and generally nurture and promote our GREEN GRADS,” she says.

Returning for the fifth time to Manchester’s GNCCF (Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair) are the GREEN GRADS, 20 of the brightest of the UK’s new wave of eco-activists who have just graduated from universities all over the country, from Falmouth to Glasgow. The Fair runs from Thursday October 15 (private view) to Sunday October 18 (closes 4pm).

Textile artist Grace Chandler garners her materials from scrap and charity shops. Using an impressive range of sewing skills, these are fashioned meticulously into dolls and accessories, in her own inimitable exuding whimsy and kitsch.

In Manchester this year, each GREEN GRAD has two “changing cubicles” to tell their story. These intriguing little booths were at water level when Pool C was a swimming bath, one of three in the celebrated complex that was Victoria Baths at the very beginning of the last century. Today, its art nouveau splendours remain: a plethora of stained glass, extensive mosaic floors and glossy green embossed wall tiles lining most of the walls.

I wanted to share some photos of a couple of the opportunities I’ve had over the last year since graduating from MA Biodesign.

In November 2025 I was lucky enough to be selected as a Green Grad with @greengradsuk . I’m so grateful to the efforts of @sunnygran in curating and promoting the exhibition at Yorkton Studios. Photo captured by @cottonlor

I also recently had the privilege of being part of the Botanical Bodies exhibition curated @auda_sakho_ for @redresslaboratory featured in photo number two captured by @genius_concierge

I love seeing people interacting with my work and engaging in Cornish heritage and seaweed materials!
