We’ve officially wrapped up my first three weeks of being on a structured program and working with a coach, and man… it’s been an eye-opening experience.

I’ve learned so much already. I’ve done exercises I never really thought about doing, developed a different level of drive and discipline, and honestly, the gym has helped carry me through so many different parts of my life lately. It’s been one of the things keeping me grounded.

Big shoutout to coach @t1d_mari for teaching me, challenging me, and helping me get back to where I need to be. I’ve still got A LOT of work to do, but I’m excited to keep learning and improving.

If you’re trying to get into calisthenics, compete, or reach a high level, invest in a knowledgeable coach. Having the right person in your corner can change everything.

These are just some of my highlights from the first three weeks.

Thank you all for the continued support. I truly appreciate y’all. 🙏🏾💙

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT SHOOTOUT @t1d_mari vs @datwaayyy_

Last month During judgement the heaviest competitors of the competition faced off and went straight to work.

Mari who is also a Type 1 diabetic asserted dominance initially by completing pullup bar routines a lot faster than DatWay

Once the athletes got to the dip by It was clear that both athletes were both exhausted with lactic acid buildup starting to slow them down.

Mari still with the lead touches the barbell first with the final exercise being 20 Zercher squats with 185lbs

The barbell slips from his arm and then falls off the rack giving DatWay the window he desperately needed to capitalize off of.

DatWay stays in the game but Mari being the experienced player he is understood the assignment and ended up winning in dramatic fashion by 3 reps.

Excellent performance by both.

Stay tuned for updates on our next event @inthepit1

Strength gets you through one rep. Endurance gets you through life.

If you want more energy, faster recovery, better heart health, and the ability to perform longer without getting tired, you need to train your endurance, not just your muscles.

Most people only train to look fit. I train people to perform.

Ready to build a body that can go the distance? DM me “ENDURANCE” and let’s get to work.

Alright guys, this is my 1-10 barbell burpee ladder set at 225 pounds. I meant to drop this video last week, but I’m putting it out now.

Take this workout, use it, and make it your own. I’m sure I wasn’t the first person to create this — it’s probably been done countless times — so credit to whoever originally came up with it.

The setup is simple:
1 barbell burpee = 1 push-up
2 barbell burpees = 2 push-ups
3 = 3 push-ups
…and you continue until you reach 10 push-ups before standing up and completing the deadlift at 225 pounds.

Keep in mind, adjust the weight to your level. You can do 135, 155, 175, 185, or whatever feels challenging but manageable. If you’re feeling crazy, you can even go heavier than 225.

You can also reverse it and go from 10 down to 1.

Give it a try, challenge yourself, and let me know how it goes. Stay blessed, stay positive, and have a great weekend. 💪🏾🔥
